This article provides educators in business schools with a new interdisciplinary experiential lab game called Supply Chain—Marketing (SC‐Mark) Shark Tank game, which can be implemented in both Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Marketing courses. The SC‐Mark experiential lab game is a real‐life business environment simulation that explores complexities in advertising industry service supply chains. One hundred sixty‐one undergraduate students participated in the game at two business schools over two semesters. The effectiveness of the game was measured and analyzed, qualitatively and quantitatively, based on text analysis of the feedback received from participating students. The results revealed five themes that helped student teams understand how advertising companies integrate and improve their service supply chains—buyer‐supplier relationships, supply chain functions and operations, consumer focus and orientation, community focus, and overall risk management.  相似文献

广告用语作为一种最为流行和普遍的公共话语,在当代社会中扮演的角色越来越重要。化妆品广告用语的目的是为了宣传产品从而刺激消费者购买,然而生活中也有很多关于化妆品广告用语的讨论,如真诚性,逻辑性……从批判话语分析的角度来揭示化妆品广告在哪些方面怎样误导消费者是具有现实意义的。以“批评话语分析”理论为依据,从体裁分析和意识形态两大方面进行分析,使消费者在欣赏此类广告时,能采取更加明智的消费行为并提高他们的批判意识。  相似文献

Attacking widespread under‐education with limited resources in the scattered, oppressed adult population of South Africa is a formidable challenge. One way of meeting this challenge could be to develop adults’ critical thinking skills, using their own experience as their main educational resource. Experiential learning technology, facilitated from a distance, could provide a means of achieving this aim. Research carried out at a conference on experiential learning at Natal University, Durban, provided an opportunity to assess the viability, desirability and usefulness of this educational method and aim. Participants’ responses indicate that the method is promising, although further experiment and development are necessary, particularly with different groups.

Three issues are discussed in this paper: the nature of the South African educational context, the promotion of critical thinking skills as an adult education aim, and the potential of employing experiential learning technology, facilitated from a distance, as a method of developing critical thinking skills.  相似文献

Toward the end of the last century and in the 1920s and 1930s, females in the West and in China were made to participate in advertising. From that time on to this very day there has been endless debate over the image of women in advertisements. The early women's rights activists Emma Goldman and Simone De Beauvoir protested against films and commercials presenting women merely as female animals who did the washing and cooking and looked after children and the aged; in the 1950s and 1960s American feminists went on the streets to demand that the government stop the advertising businesses from using sexy, lewdly posturing models to promote sales; in the 1970s, women in Singapore protested against females appearing half naked in advertisements and compelled the government to promulgate corresponding laws and regulations. And not so long ago similar issues became the subject of widespread discussion in Hong Kong, and ten advertisements were chosen as being the most prejudicial to women.  相似文献

Students in master's‐level courses in group work were surveyed regarding their attitudes toward the use of an experiential group activity as a component of their training, as well as the level of instructor involvement in these experiential groups. Students agreed that the experiential group was an effective and necessary teaching tool; however, a substantial minority indicated discomfort with the activity. Also, although the majority of instructors did not directly lead the experiential group, most either observed or received feedback on participation.  相似文献

In this paper, I report on an examination of the rhetoric and implementation of peer education in Myanmar. I demonstrate that while there was widespread consistency on interviewees' views of what peer education should involve, there was a significant gap between this rhetoric and the ways in which peer education was implemented, particularly in relation to the training of peer educators. It is my argument that this gap occurred because of failure to utilise, or even recognise, a particular form of knowledge: knowledge as phronesis, which is most commonly translated as ‘practical wisdom’ and incorporates factual, emotional and experiential knowledge. Instead, as I show, the pedagogic processes in use in peer education practice in Myanmar drew on an (unexpressed) understanding of knowledge as episteme: a form of knowledge that is facts-based, technical and presumed objective.  相似文献
