Theoretical Analysis and Simulation of Jacking Procedure of Pantadome System

In order to obtain the principle of Pantadome lifting process and make theoretical foundation for practical applications, the core idea of Pantadome was introduced, which is to make a structure become a mechanism by temporarily removing some members during the process of construction. The abstract motion model was built. By determining the change of the coordinates of the hinge joint and that of each point of the structure, simulative analysis of the mechanical motion of Pantadome was realized. Then general program that simulates the lifting process of Pantadome was developed based on AutoCAD environment by Auto Lisp language. By completing the theoretical analysis of the lifting process of Pantadome, three-dimensional simulation of the lifting process of Pantadome was realized. And it is successfully applied to bidding work of practical engineering.

Structural Reliability of Broadside of a Bulk Carrier

The ultimate bending moment and maximal shear stress of a bulk carrier with two structural forms （single hull and double hull/ are calculated separately by using the combined moment which is determined by stochastic process. Then the assessment of reliability is carried out. The results indicate that by introducing the double-hull structure, the shear stress of side can be decreased to half of that of the primary structure（ 50.7% i. but the effect on longitudinal strength is not obvious. Finally, the effects of different double-side skin widths on ultimate bending moment and the maximal shear stress are investigated, followed by proposals of the selection of the double-side skin width.

Numerical Analysis of the Stability of Embankment Slope Reinforced with Piles

The effects of stabilizing piles on the stability of an embankment slope are analyzed by numerical simulation. The shear strength reduction method is used for the analysis, and the soil - pile interaction is simulated with zero-thickness elasto-plastic interface elements. Effects of pile spacing and pile position on the safety factor of slope and the behavior of piles under these conditions are given. The numerical analysis indicates that the positions of the pile have significant influence on the stability of the slope, and the pile needs to be installed in the middle of the slope for maximum safety factors. In the end, the soil arching effect closely associated with the space between stabilizing piles is analyzed. The results are helpful for design and construction of stabilizing piles.

Self-desiccation mechanism of high-performance concrete

Investigations on the effects of W/C ratio and silica fume on the autogenous shrinkage and internal relative humidity of high performance concrete (HPC), and analysis of the self-desiccation mechanisms of HPC showed that the autogenous shrinkage and internal relative humidity of HPC increases and decreases with the reduction of W/C respectively; and that these phenomena were amplified by the addition of silica fume. Theoretical analyses indicated that the reduction of RH in HPC was not due to shortage of water, but due to the fact that the evaporable water in HPC was not evaporated freely. The reduction of internal relative humidity or the so-called self-desiccation of HPC was chiefly caused by the increase in mole concentration of soluble ions in HPC and the reduction of pore size or the increase in the fraction of micro-pore water in the total evaporable water (Tr/Tte ratio).

Effects of slag fineness on durability of mortars

In recent years, the usages of by-products and wastes in industry have become more important. The importance of the sustainable development is also of increasing. The utilizations of wastes, as mineral admixture or fine aggregate, reduce the consumption of the natural resources and improve the durability of concrete. In this study, the effect of the fineness on the high temperature and sulphate resistances of concrete mortar specimens, produced with ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GBFS) replacing cement, is investigated. The compressive and flexural strength test results for all series related to durability effects, exposing temperature and solutions, exposure times for these durability effects, slag content and fineness are discussed. Conse- quently, the optimum slag contents are determined for producing the sulphate and high temperature resistant mortars.     

Influence of Electrolyte on ESR of Medium Voltage Wet Tantalum Capacitors

In this paper, the influence of working electrolyte on high-frequency electrical performance of wet tantalum capacitors is studied. Emphasis is especially put on the study of the contribution of depolariser in reducing Equivalent Series Resistance(ESR). According to the theory of depolarization in electrochemistry and the theory of cathode capacitance of electrolytic capacitor, different kinds of depolarisers are added separately into the foregone electrolyte. Then capacitors are assembled with tantalum cores dipped with the compounded electrolytes. The best depolariser and its concentration in the whole electrolyte could be selected according to the test results of the capacitance and ESR of the capacitors. The results of our experiment show that depolariser Fe2 (SO4)3 used in working electrolyte of 100 V/IO0 μF wet tantalum capacitors can help to obtain lower ESR and higher capacitance at frequency from 0.1 kHz to 100 kHz.     

Technical research on optimization design of contacts of electrical connector

Pin and socket contacts are the key parts of electrical connector as aerospace electronic components. The contacts are also the direct carriers for signal transmitting of electronic equipments, passing the signal from the input end to the output end of electrical connector. The reliability of pin and socket contacts directly influences signal transmission. The goal of this study is to enhance the contact reliability of aerospace electrical connector. Computer simulation analysis was made on contacts performance data by utilizing the simulation system developed by PCL Language of MSC software. Furthermore, the results were experi- mentally validated so as to realize the objective of optimizing contacts design.
