Action is the beginning of knowledge, and knowledge is the completion of action. Let us begin with children. They know that fire is hot only after they have felt the heat. They know that snow is cold only after they have chilled their hands. Only after they have tasted sugar do they know it is sweet; only after they have run into a rock do they know that rocks are hard. When you have lived for awhile in a sunny place, when you have gone into a kitchen a few times when food is being cooked, and when you have lived through several summers, then you have an abstract idea of heat. When you have made a few Bodhisattvas out of snow, when you have breathed the frosty wind a few times, and when you have had a few dishes of ice cream, then you have an abstract knowledge of cold. When you run into a rock then touch a ring of cornflowers, you know the difference between hard and soft even better. In all of these things, we can see clearly that action is the beginning of knowledge and knowledge is the completion of action. Only after Franklin flew a kite did it become known that electricity could be attracted from the atmosphere to earth. When Watt heated water and saw that steam could move the teapot cover, he knew steam could also move machines. When Galileo dropped balls of unequal weight from the tower of Pisa, he knew that balls of unequal weight fall to earth at the same speed. In these scientific examples, we can again see that "action is the beginning of knowledge and knowledge is the completion of action."

Conclusion In conclusion, as early childhood teachers prepare to meet the “unknown” —mainstreaming—the early childhood community has an excellent opportunity to benefit from both past experiences and the research literature on mainstreaming and teacher change. This work suggests that teachers' feelings and attitudes about mainstreaming must be addressed in dynamic relation to their needs for information and skills as these change over time. Teachers, directors, and teacher educators need help in understanding that teachers' development and the development of the children they teach are inextricably linked. While these concepts have been explored previously, it is imperative that practitioners at all levels recognize their relevance at this critical juncture in the implementation of P.L. 99–457 and consider new and creative ways to translate them into practice. I feel... not just that I couldn't cope with it... but emotionally I don't think I could... Emotionally I think I would have a hard time, you know, going home and feeling good about myself when I know that there's this child [with disabilities in my classroom].     

Performance-oriented Drama Translation from Skopos Theory: A Case in my Chinese Translation of Translations

Based on the guidelines set by Ningbo Theatre who asked me to translate translations and features of performance-oriented drama, this commentary will deal with how I translate characters and cultural specific items from prospective of skopos theory and explain the reason why I translate it this way.I am required to present vivid characters and bridge the cultural gap while translating. During the process of translation, I try to use specific words or local dialect to differ one person from another. Sometimes, I make one person's language less colloquial which is consistent with his own personality. When encountering some cultural barriers that would make audience confused, I adopt domestication to translate the dialogue. I will add some explanatory words to make audience get to know it and free translation to avoid cultural confusion. In this commentary, six examples are given to show my strategies of translating this book.
