变型设计中产品尺寸的成本影响及控制规则研究

本文从分析与产品体积与尺寸有关的材料成本、加工成本、准备成本三个成本项目入手,通过定性或定量分析尺寸影响成本的原因,建立了一个量化的模型,可从原型产品的原有成本结构推导出改型产品的新的成本结构,以利于寻找成本降低的重点及控制规则,最后通过大量的统计数据总结出成本降低规则,有助于变型设计中成本控制实施。

On two roles decision support systems can play in negotiations

This paper focuses on the role of the computer system in group decision-making. Two systems used in solving negotiating problems and three procedures which can be utilized to develop group decision support systems are analysed and a unified approach for the analysis is presented. The systems and procedures are based on multicriteria decision analysis and use mathematical programming models. They can play different roles: systems intervention in the negotiating process can be used merely to facilitate the process, or the system can actively mediate negotiations; both roles are discussed here.     

On parameterization design for linear observers

In this paper, the design of observers is further investigated via the parameterization technique. Two new observer parameterizations are addressed related to nonminimal reduced-order state observers. The known results in the references available can be obtained as particular results from the present parameterizations. For plants with input disturbances, parameterizations of estimation error dynamics are derived, providing useful tools for the design of robust optimal observers. An illustrative example is given for describing the parameterization procedure.     

Iterative exploration,design and evaluation of support for query reformulation in interactive information retrieval

We report on the progressive investigation of techniques for supporting interactive query reformulation in the TREC Interactive Track. Two major issues were explored over four successive years: methods of term suggestion; and, interface design to support different system functionalities. Each year's results led to the following year's investigation, with respect to both of these issues. This paper presents first the general motivation for the entire series of studies; then an overview of each year's investigation, its results, and how they influenced the next year's investigation. We discuss what has been learned through this series of investigations about effective term suggestion, usable and useful interface design, and the relationships between these two in support of the TREC Interactive Track task. We conclude with comments about the general methodology employed over this series of studies, and its relevance to the development and evaluation of interactive information retrieval systems.     

Enterprise Information Portals in support of business process, design teams and collaborative commerce performance

Enterprise Information Portals (EIPs) have been widely adopted as platforms for the integration of knowledge management and information technology (IT). This study has been conducted from the knowledge management perspective in order to examine the influence of EIPs on collaborative commerce in the automobile industry. This study explores the integration of internal and external business processes and the coordination of collaborative design teams. An initial qualitative investigation explores the practical applications of an EIP in an automobile company. A research model is then formulated and tested using a questionnaire survey of the R&D department of a motor company in Taiwan. The results of the data analysis reveal that presence of EIPs can help a company realize the benefits of c-commerce. EIPs also can improve collaborative commerce performance by promoting the degree of integration of the enterprise process and by strengthening the process innovation and communication of collaborative design teams. The results suggest that managers should reinforce important factors, including knowledge management tools, process integration, and the quality of design teams, in order to achieve success in collaborative commerce.     

On design of continuous Lyapunov's feedback control

A common approach to Lyapunov's stability control is to design a controller such that a Lyapunov function can be derived for the control system to ensure stability. This procedure often leads to a discontinuous controller. When the controller is implemented, the discontinuous terms are replaced with continuous functions to avoid chattering of the control signal. Two associated problems have been overlooked during this procedure. One is that discontinuous control systems are non-smooth, which violates the fundamental assumptions of solution theories and the applicability of Lyapunov's stability theory is questionable. Another problem is that the replacement of discontinuous terms may weaken stability, which can be critical. In this paper, we discuss proper stability analysis of discontinuous control systems using the extended Lyapunov's second method based on Filippov's solution concept for non-smooth systems. We further propose to utilize the concept of Lyapunov exponents to quantitatively analyze the stability of continuous control systems obtained by replacing the discontinuous terms in the discontinuous controllers. An example involving the stabilization of a two-link non-fixed-base robotic manipulator is presented for demonstration. This research fills the gap in designing continuous Lyapunov's stability controllers regarding limited available Lyapunov functions.     

On automatic support to indexing a life sciences data base

The paper describes a technique developed as automatic support to subject heading indexing at BIOSIS. The technique is based on the use of a formalized language for semantic representation of biological texts and subject headings—the language of Concept Primitives. The structure of the language is discussed as well as the structure of the Semantic Vocabulary, in which natural language words from biological texts are described by Concept Primitives. The Semantic Vocabulary is being constructed. Approximately 8,000 entries corresponding to high frequency significant words have been compiled, comprising at least three-quarters of the final number. Results of experiments checking the approach are given, and journal/subject heading and author/subject heading correlation data are analyzed to be used as a supporting technique.
