标准与实践:清代地方档案的文件级著录

档案著录是档案整理与研究的重要内容。既往对于清代档案著录的研究主要集中于案卷级著录,而对文件级著录的研究尚不充分。本文以清代南部县衙档案著录为例,详细论述清代地方档案文件级著录的标准及实践中的著录项目、管理、流程与审查等,以弥补档案文件级著录研究之不足,并为清代档案及其它档案的文件级著录提供可资借鉴的方法和经验。     

多卷书著录方法的选取原则

目前我国关于多卷书著录的选取方法可归结为6种:全采用分卷著录、全采用整套著录、按是否一次性到馆区分著录、按ISBN区分著录、按分卷题名是否有独立检索意义区分著录、按有无分卷题名及是否具有独立检索意义区分著录。这些方法均有各自的优点,但也都存在一定的缺陷。在著录多卷书时,各图书馆应遵循以下原则:能用整套著录的不用分卷著录、客观准确地反映文献信息、有效编目。     

谈多卷书著录--与邓福泉同志商榷

作者对邓福泉同志多卷书的著录方式"应以ISBN号的分配形式来选择整套集中著录或分卷分散著录"的著录方法提出了异议.并从多卷书的ISBN号情况、MARC字段的形式以及文献著录的特征等方面阐明了"多卷书著录应以统一分卷分散著录为最佳方式"的观点.

从用户角度探讨版本著录的方法

版本信息是文献内容的重要揭示,是用户选择文献的重要依据,因此版本的著录是非常重要的。但在版本著录的实践中往往存在较大差异。版本信息包含说明性版本信息和记录性版本信息。通过对记录性版本信息与说明性版本信息及其著录意义的比较发现,记录性版本信息著录在205字段、说明性版本信息著录在200字段$e子字段的著录方法是合理的。这种著录方式使复杂多样的版本信息变得清晰明了,降低了版本著录的难度,有利于实现版本著录的统一。

音乐旋律表示及匹配方法浅议

音乐旋律的表示和匹配方法是基于旋律的音乐组织与检索的重要环节。音乐旋律的表示方法大致分为两种:一是描述旋律时忽略乐音在时间上的延续性,只描述乐音随时间的变化;二是同时考虑音乐旋律所包含的两方面的内容。从信息管理的角度看,对音乐旋律进行描述的最终目的是建立旋律数据库,对音乐信息进行组织和检索。进行音乐旋律描述时可以忽略旋律的时间属性,这个旋律表示法的基本思想是直接使用音符对应的绝对音高来表示音乐旋律。图1。参考文献12。

Rhetorical strategies of continuity and change in the music of popular artists over time

This essay analyzes certain aspects of the music of Bruce Springsteen to determine the impact of rhetorical strategies of continuity and change on musical artists’ appeal over time. Three general observations emerged from this analysis. First, Bruce Springsteen's musical stories and styles have undergone several disjunctive shifts during the course of his career. In making these shifts, Springsteen has remained true to himself as a maturing adult without sacrificing listener appeal. Second, musical score strongly impacts the ultimate message conveyed depending on whether it emotionally reinforces or contradicts the lyrical message. Finally, other musical performers should be mindful of the effect of their rhetorical choices regarding (a) the intensity and release patterns they use within a musical score and (b) why, when, and where they might allow their stories or styles to shift, and what effect those shifts are likely to have on the integrated messages they are attempting to communicate.     

Music and Identity in a Postcolonial World: Radio Airplay of Lusophone Music in Public Service Broadcasting in the Portuguese- Speaking World

With music being one of the key elements of radio, and plurality one of the most important principles of public service, this article’s central argument is that one of the missions of public radio is to foster musical elements produced in the country’s national language. Focusing on traditional musical genres of the Portuguese-speaking countries, we will analyze the role of music in public radio by selecting specific musical shows focused on the Lusophone world. In order to determine the presence and impact of Lusophony in national stations, music will be the common thread for a reflection on how multicultural their programming strategies are able to be.     

The Effectiveness of Keyword Searching in the Retrieval of Musical Works on Sound Recordings

Three methods of access to musical works on sound recordings are: name-title added entries; title added entries; and contents notes, which may allow access to works through keyword indexes. The purpose of this research was to learn about the comparative effectiveness of standard OPAC retrieval techniques utilized to retrieve sound recordings of musical works. A sample of recorded musical works was searched in CLIO (Columbia Libraries Information Online). The number of musical works per sound recording, and the work's type of title were tested as influencing factors in the success of various retrieval techniques. Retrieval-set sizes, and the number of steps required to locate a target record were also measured for each of the retrieval techniques. Keyword retrieval is shown to be effective. The comparable effectiveness of keyword searching with conventional title searching appears to be dependent on the number of works contained on the recording. Keyword retrieval is not as successful as title searching when title entries are provided.     

Off the Campaign Trail and Into the Courthouse: Does a Political Candidate's Use of a Song Infringe on the Performer's Trademark?

As the use of popular music in political campaigns has skyrocketed, so have complaints by musical artists who do not want their songs associated with candidates they do not support. Recently, musical artists have asserted that this constitutes trademark infringement by falsely suggesting that they endorse a candidate. Relying on court decisions and statutes, this article analyzes song-based performer trademarks and whether campaign's uses of music constitute infringement. Ultimately, this article concludes that typically musical compositions and sound recordings cannot be used as performer trademarks and, in any event, political uses would not amount to infringement.     

Contextualizing musical rhetoric: A critical reading of the pixies' “Rock Music”

Rhetorical studies of popular music have privileged formalist analysis of musical score and lyrics, suggesting a need for greater inclusion of contextual factors. By explicitly attending to the rhetorical context, critics are more likely to warrant critical judgments within social and cultural discourses, reconceptualize musical texts in intertextual terms, and actively reflect on critical performance. Such a strategy is illustrated through the critical study of the Pixies’ “Rock Music,”; a song whose meaning as an anti‐anthem can be found at a nexus of rhetorical contexts, including punk taste culture, surrealist art, musical argument, post‐punk alternative rock, and anthem rock.
