试论高职英语评估体系的构建

高职英语终结性测试和形成性评估有着各自的优缺点,只有有效地把两种评估方式结合起来,构建高职英语评估的新体系,才能更科学、全面地评估学生的英语水平,同时引导学生既重视学习的结果,又重视学习的过程,实现高职英语应用能力的全面提高。

通过测试、问卷、对学生档案袋的分析以及进一步的访谈,认为形成性评估与终结性评估相比有助于促进非英语专业学生口语能力的提高,且实验班与控制班之间存在显著差异.实验班的学生在确定目标和评估观念、独立行动策略和评估策略方面明显优于控制班,而且存在显著差异,所以这种模式促进了学生自主学习能力的培养.

长期以来,在英语教学中所采取的主要评估方式是终结性评估(summative assessment),这种过分强调考试的评估方式已对外语教学带来巨大的负面效应.教育部明确提出了大学英语教学的目标是"培养学生英语的综合运用能力,特别是听说能力".为实现这一目标,要将科学的、多元化的过程性评估(formative assessment)理论融入学生有效和有质量的完成学习过程中,实现对学生学习进行客观、正确的评估,从而真实地反应教师的教学水平和学生的知识掌握程度.

在当今的大学英语口语教学中,形成性评估已作为教学评估的一种形式被采用,但它只是一种辅助式的评估,并未取得其真正积极的效果.本文根据形成性评估的理念,在教学过程中在实验班全面彻底地按照形成性评估的理念和具体要求去操作.在一个学期结束时,进行了口语测试,并把其班成绩与非实验班的同学成绩进行比较,发现相差较大;从而表明两班的教学效果及学生口语能力的提高方面悬殊很大.所以,笔者认为,形成性评估应该作为口语教学的一种主要评估形成,并严格按照它的理念与要求去操作,来促进英语口语教学的有效发展.
