在全球化多元共生、开放、回应与同构的趋势中，中国社会转型与西方社会转型因社会主义制度因素的嵌入而具有非同源性，但中国因工业化、现代化的使然，仍引发了社会结构的重构和具有现代性特质的社会分化开始，并凸显出我国传统的政府与社会高度合一管制模式的内生性冲突。因而在社会转型情境中建设和谐社会，不仅需要重设动力机制、社会机制，而且建设和谐社会的新制度安排还需要建立一套不断完善的社会机制链才能持续地转化为现实生产力，才能促进与实现社会的和谐。     

Chronicle of Race,Sex and Schools Race

Applying microeconomic theory to No Child Left Behind predicts that its use of significant consequences for schools that do not reach 100% proficiency on rigorous standardized tests by 2014 will likely prevent most, if not all schools, from providing a high-quality education for their students. The central problem is cost. Quality assurance models predict that costs associated with achieving the required 100% pass rate will rise well above typical school budgets. Thus, No Child Left Behind, or any reform that combines a rigid demarcation between passing and failing with a 100% proficiency requirement, will fail as prohibitively expensive.

本文从国家与产权之间的关系这一视角出发,对20世纪50年代民族资本主义的社会主义改造问题进行了分析。论文主要把这一改造理解为企业产权结构的政治性重构,并根据这种理解对整个改造历程进行了简要描述。从历史的角度来看,发生于城市的这一产权变迁历程充分反映了财产所有权与其赖以存在的政治社会基础之间的密切关系。     

The Social Funding of Race: The Role of Schooling

Our nation is suffused in questions of race and racism. Despite much scholarly and public discussion we struggle to undo long-held assumptions about race and how it functions. This article looks at race from the perspective of a public commodity that the society “funds” in order to make it seem real and intractable. Throughout the article there are multiple examples of the everyday, commonsense things people in this society do to fund the concept and give it meaning from our children's earliest days. The challenge in a society that so “fully funds” race is it seems near impossible to “defund” the concept in teacher education to allow new teachers to approach the classroom as a space where race is not determinant and highly predictive of student achievement.     

Ideological Repositioning: Race,Social Justice,and Promise

In this paper, I engage in discourse centrally located in the ideology of race in the United States of America juxtaposed to social justice with promise for tomorrow in higher education and beyond. I assert that social justice in kinesiology requires that once hired, retaining, securing tenured status, and promoting faculty of color means having realistic expectations, providing them with mentors, supporting their research agendas, and protecting their workloads. This calls for ideological repositioning: that is, changing our mindset, actions, and behaviors.     

The Social Cohesion Role of Educational Organizations: Primary and Secondary Schools

Schools have long been recognized as key institutions affecting social cohesion. Schools foster or retard student tolerance, respect for diverse others, and sense of overarching common identity and values. They prepare citizens with the knowledge and skills needed to participate effectively in a democracy. Schools themselves are an object of democratic participation. Thus, schools affect social cohesion both through their affect on students and through their conduct as societal institutions. This article reviews a variety of means by which schools can either promote or erode social cohesion.     

Magnet Schools: Reform and Race in Urban Education

Popular film impacts the work of educators and education in a variety of ways. In this article, the authors examine popular films' portrayals of education and K-12 schooling and higher education instructors from a variety of perspectives. The authors also investigate how education provides a platform for the examination of contemporary cultural concerns. The authors and education graduate students offer recommendations for fruitful viewing. In addition, the authors provide some rationales for further study of education in popular film.
