汉语中有一些成语,历史悠久,其词形用法、语义都发生了很大的变化,从而形成了一个颇为复杂的系统。研究它们,必须尽可能多地查阅资料,运用系统的方法,全面考察,才可能避免失误,得出比较全面的认识。“摩顶至踵”系一成语。《汉语大词典》收录并解释了它。其解释采用的是枚举归纳法,且只是静态地考察它,因而存在以下不足：1．义项设立不全;2．未释其语义的理据。3．未释该词语源流。笔者特对该词语在《四库全书》中的用例,做了穷尽性的检索,并且从语源、语义、词形及其变化等各方面进行了系统的考察。
