Computer-Assisted Feedback in Counseling Supervision

This article outlines the capacity of the microcomputer to help provide process feedback to counselors-in-training. Discussion is focused upon low cost equipment, innovative adaptation, and interaction of standard equipment commonly found in counselor training laboratory facilities. Advantages, limitations, and desirable features of each system are briefly discussed. Finally, possible system usage in counselor training is considered in light of the new potentials made economically feasible by advances in microcomputer technology.     

Mathematics: Prospects and Problems

Sections 3 and 4 of the 1988 Education Reform Act include mathematics as one of the compulsory core subjects in the National Curriculum and empower the Secretary of State to specify attainment targets, programmes of study, and assessment arrangements for mathematics for children of compulsory school age. The Mathematics Working Group appointed to advise the Secretary of State on mathematics reported in June and its recommendations for attainment targets, programmes of study and statements of attainment were published in August alongside the mathematics proposals of the Secretary of State for Education and Science and for Wales. Tony Larcombe, director, Kent Mathematics Project, discusses the proposals.     

Teaching Group Counseling Skills: Problems and Solutions

The authors discuss ethical and professional issues regarding group counseling and argue that it is challenging to meet or exceed the standards established by the American Counseling Association's Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs for teaching principles and theories, leadership skills, and group counseling methods for effective group practice. This task is especially difficult for counselor education programs that do not have doctoral students who can provide instruction and group leadership. The authors present a model involving 2 courses that allow for mastery of skills and solve practical dilemmas of providing an experiential group experience and leadership opportunities.

Studying Children's Learning in Context: Problems and Prospects

In this article, I present a framework for the study of children's learning in cultural practices and educational activities. The framework consists of three analytic components, each of which is grounded in a constructivist treatment of cognitive development: (a) a model for the analysis of emergent cognitive goals in practices, (b) a model for the analysis of cognitive developments linked to emergent goals, and (c) a model for the analysis of the interplay between cognitive developments linked to one practice or activity to accomplish emergent goals in another. The article describes the early history of the framework and its current application to the design and analysis of a classroom practice in the United States involving arithmetical problem solving in third and fourth grade inner-city classrooms. I close with a discussion of the framework with reference to Schoenfeld's (1992) standards for methodological innovations.

高校心理咨询工作近20年来得到了很大的发展.在针对大学生群体的心理咨询方面进行了积极的探索,对于培养身心全面发展的人才发挥了重要的作用,但在组织管理、实际运作、理论研究等方面仍存在着很多问题,需要我们作进一步探讨,研究解决对策,以利于高校心理咨询工作的健康发展.

当前农村基础教育课程改革中存在着诸多问题,表现为:教育管理人员认识存在偏差,管理措施不力;教师整体素质不容乐观,培训与教研不足;生源分布失衡,留守儿童增加;中、高考依旧,评价成"瓶颈";等问题.对此,应多管齐下,提高对农村课程改革的重视程度,并采取切实有效措施,多渠道提高农村教师的整体素质,增强评价机制改革的实效,促进城乡教育的平等对话.

高等教育学：成就、难题与展望

高等教育学在近30年发展中取得了显著成就,不仅确立了稳定的学科地位,形成了一个庞大的研究队伍集群,而且发表了一系列有重要影响的力作,涌现出一批学术精英。但同时仍然面临着许多难题,如还缺乏一个公认的学科范式,为研究而研究现象还比较突出,研究者自我封闭现象还比较严重,受到利益集团的影响在加剧。在未来,高等教育学只有通过更加开放的路线才能解决难题,具体策略是进一步推进高教研究走向多元化、个性化和微观化,并通过加强规范化来促进学术共同体建设,促进高等教育学走向新的繁荣。

建立、发展教育中介组织，是促使高等教育改革向纵深发展的有效手段。在提供某些公共物品或服务方面，教育中介组织往往具有政府和市场所不具有的优势。本对教育中介组织的相关理论进行了梳理，分析了我国教育中介组织在发展中存在的问题，对几种亟待发展的教育中介组织提出了一些建议。

新中国70年民族高等教育发展:成就、问题与展望

新中国成立70年来,我国民族高等教育的规模迅速扩大,教育质量和水平显著提升。本研究在梳理民族高等教育发展历程及相关文献的基础上,将70年来民族高等教育的成就总结为五个方面:民族高等教育的人才培养成效显著、族际受教育水平差距逐渐缩小、学科建设取得重大进展、科研工作稳步推进以及保障机制逐步建立健全。与此同时,民族高等教育的发展中仍存在一些亟待解决的问题,集中表现为一流民族特色学科发展滞后、高层次人才难以满足民族地区发展需要、民族高校科研的前瞻性不足、服务国家"一带一路"倡议的能力亟须提升等。民族高校需以民族文化为根基,加快一流民族特色学科建设;以"两个服务"为原则,注重高层次人才培养与就业引导;以科研创新为导向,开展民族社会各领域的前瞻性研究;以复合型区域合作人才培养为依托,增强服务国家发展战略的能力。     

陕西民办高等教育:问题、对策与展望

改革开放三十年来,陕西民办教育经过二十多年的发展取得了辉煌成就,实现了超常规、跨越式发展。本文通过对存在定位不明确、财务监管机制缺失、发展空间受到限制等问题的分析,提出建立政府主导下的市场资源配置的长效机制的对策,并展望陕西民办高等教育发展的未来走向。

1998年实施建设一流大学以来,高校重点学科、重点研究基地、博士点、硕士点建设等人文应用学科核心指标,既阻碍高校及其专家学者开展决策咨询研究,也影响高校人文应用专业教学质量和培养社会所需的劳动者。要采取建立决策咨询研究的重点基地、重点学科、重点硕博士点等措施,完善学科评估、考核指标、激励保障,改善决策咨询研究成果的报送、推广和应用渠道,促进高校决策咨询研究。
