Biomanufacturing： an Interdisciplinary Subject between RapidManufacturing and Biomedicine

This paper begins with a discussion of the emergence and applications of rapid manufacturing techniques, leading to the introduction of biomanufacturing: an interdisciplinary subject between rapid manufacturing and biomedicine. Fundamental knowledge of biomanufacturing is addressed, theories and topics related to biomanufacturing discussed, and methods of modeling in biornanufacturing described. Finally the present state of research and the application prospects of biomanufacturing are presented.

Influence of Exposure Time on Prototyping Accuracy in Stereolithography

A novel stereolithgraphy system with conventional UV light as a light source uses the 2D worktable as moving components,whose characteristics determine the accuracy of the prototyping parts. Many factors including mass of the worktable, elasticity and damp coefficients, speed and acceleration affect the non-uniform exposure time of the resin, and eventually influence the cured line shape and the curing accuracy. A light shuttle is used to eliminate the cure errors, greatly improving accuracy of the parts.

Fabrication of Bone Tissue Bionic Scaffold Based on Selective Laser Sintering

This paper introduces a technical method by which bone tissue bionic scaffolds are fabricated on a selective laser sintering machine. It also analyses determinative factors in fabricating porous structure using this method, and proposes a new technique to fabricate porous structure by rapid prototyping method.
