This study was conducted in order to determine the beliefs of students and teachers in different levels of education about
their communicative competences. The study group of this research is consisted of 600 secondary school, high school and undergraduate
students and 41 of their teachers. In this study, it is observed that not a significant correlation at a considerable degree
exists in the communicative competences of students with their teachers, who are from different nationalities, gender and
levels. Furthermore, regarding students, educated at different levels, no relation has been observed in their communicative
competences with their teachers. Moreover, while students consider their communicative competences with their teachers to

Issues linked with the notions of quality of life (QOL) and motivation to learn among Asian medical students have not been
well documented. This is true in both the international and the New Zealand contexts. Our paper addresses this lack of research
by focusing on the QOL of international and domestic Asian students studying in New Zealand, where Asian students form a significant
proportion of tertiary students. Although there is evidence to suggest that Asian students do well academically, it was felt
that an investigation into their QOL would be instructive as QOL will likely have an impact on cognition, behavior, general
well-being, and motivation. The present study surveyed fourth- and fifth-year medical students to examine the relationship
between QOL and motivation to learn and to consider how Asian medical students compare against European medical and non-medical
student peers. The study utilized the World Health Organization—Quality of Life questionnaire (BREF version) and a shortened
version of the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire. The results show that the Asian medical students in this study
generated significantly lower scores in terms of their satisfaction with social relationships compared with their non-Asian
peers. In addition, international Asian medical students appear to be more at risk than domestic Asian students with respect
to test anxiety. The paper considers the findings and the implications for quality of life, motivation to learn, medical education,

This study examines a fifth grade science teacher’s attempts at integrating engineering design using the construct of uncertainty.
Collaborative action research served as a supportive mechanism to uncover and confront the teacher’s uncertainties. Data were
gathered through semi-structured interviews, reflections, classroom observations, lesson plans, and student work. Data analysis
entailed the use of grounded theory. Findings from this study revealed that teaching science through engineering design is
both challenging and problematic. Underpinning the teacher’s pedagogical experiences was the constant force of uncertainty,

Objective
This study was aimed at assessing the dynamics of vitronectin (VN), laminin (LN), and heparan sulfate/heparin (HS/HP) content changes during experimental burn healing.Methods
VN, LN, and HS/HP were isolated and purified from normal and injured skin of domestic pigs, on the 3rd, 5th, 10th, 15th, and 21st days following thermal damage. The wounds were treated with apitherapeutic agent (propolis), silver sulfadiazine (SSD), physiological salt solution, and propolis vehicle. VN and LN were quantified using an immunoenzymatic assay and HS/HP was estimated by densitometric analysis.Results
Propolis treatment stimulated significant increases in VN, LN, and HS/HP contents during the initial phase of study, followed by a reduction in the estimated extracellular matrix molecules. Similar patterns, although less extreme, were observed after treatment with SSD.Conclusions
The beneficial effects of propolis on experimental wounds make it a potential apitherapeutic agent in topical burn management. 相似文献997.

The authors used realistic evaluation to examine the real-world effectiveness of two 5-day training techniques on sustained optimal skin-to-skin practices that support Step 4 of the revised Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI). The authors found that education alone was insufficient to effect sustainable practice change. Exposure to the 5-day immersion model (Practice, Reflection, Education and training, Combined with Ethnography for Sustainable Success, or PRECESS) alone or combined with education was an effective strategy to change and sustain the standard of care for skin-to-skin practice (p < 0.00001). The intended outcome of sustained practice change toward implementation of skin-to-skin care through immersion or a combined approach shows promise and should be repeated in other localities. 相似文献

This study aimed to investigate parents’ advice to other parents on the basis of their own experiences of siblings’ taking leave of a stillborn sister or brother. The study was a Web questionnaire study of 411 parents. The thematic content analysis resulted in two categories: “Make the stillborn baby and the loss real for the siblings” and “Take the siblings’ resources and prerequisites into account.” Parents’ advised that siblings should see and hold the stillborn baby and, thus, be invited and included into the leave-taking process with respect to the siblings’ feelings, resources, and prerequisites. The German education system is currently experiencing two contrasting trends: On the one hand, social opening, e.g. through the introduction of a partially-integrated secondary school system, compensatory all-day-schooling. On the other hand, an increasing vertical hierarchy in certain educational phases, e.g. through the explicitly encouraged introduction of private kindergartens and primary schools and the establishment of prime (academic track) Gymnasien and elite universities. In line with these structural changes, next to equality, the principle of excellence is gaining an increasing significance as a justification argument. This contribution will present the situation from an education-policy perspective, discuss theoretical discourses, and the national and international state of research on the topic of elitism and education. There is a growing movement toward the introduction of algebra in early grades. This is supported by an increasing number of research studies that have reported success in getting young students to “do” mathematics considered beyond their reach. Yet, the consensus is that more research is needed to provide insights into the processes by which students make sense of algebraic ideas. In particular, more studies are needed on how nonlinear functions can be introduced in early grades. This article reports an algebra research strand that introduced seventh grade students to quadratic functions using Guess-My-Rule games. The article describes several instances of the students engaging successfully with ideas and forms of reasoning involving quadratic functions. The purpose is to contribute to the debate on the introduction of algebra in early grades by providing further evidence of young students’ ability to engage with algebraic ideas usually considered to be beyond their reach. 相似文献
