襄阳地区老年人健康知识、生活习惯与健康状况调查

目的调查襄阳地区老年群体(60岁以上)的健康知识知晓率及生活习惯,以便为实施健康教育和干预提供参考。方法随机抽样500名老年人进行问卷调查。结果老年人获取健康知识的途径主要为报刊杂志(占64.1%),而老年人期望自己获得健康知识的途径依次为医生(占61.1%),健康知识讲座(51.2%);健康知识知晓率与文化层次有一定的关系;部分健康行为(如多吃水果、常喝牛奶、经常洗澡等)与经济水平有关;普遍患有老年常见慢性病。结论应该加强社区了卫生服务,多向老年人宣讲健康知识,增强老年人常见病的家庭保健与护理意识,从而提高老年人的生活质量与健康水平。     

Factors influencing school connectedness: Chinese adolescents’ perspectives

This study explored the concept of school connectedness and the factors that may influence its development with a sample of Chinese adolescents. Six focus groups involving 52 high school students were conducted using a set of predetermined discussion topics. Results indicated that the students fully understood the notion of school connectedness and could identify a number of key influences affecting its development. These factors could be grouped under several domains including teacher care, peer relations, broader school relationships, school disciplinary policies and practices, activities within the school’s guidance and counseling program, and opportunities for talent development. The students were also able to suggest practical strategies that schools might introduce to enhance and strengthen students’ acquisition of connectedness to school. The implications from the findings are discussed with particular reference to implementing comprehensive school guidance and counseling program in Hong Kong.

近30年来民国时期借贷研究综述

借贷作为一种金融行为,是观察社会经济活动的一个独特且准确的视角。民国时期,中国的借贷体系呈现出新旧交替的特征。早在20世纪初,众多学者就开始对这一时期的社会经济进行调查研究,涌现出一大批关于借贷的卓越成果;但从20世纪80年代开始,学界才真正从学术角度探讨民国时期的借贷问题。文章对国内近三十年来的相关研究成果进行了分类梳理和总体评析。     

Perceived Discrimination Among African American Adolescents and Allostatic Load: A Longitudinal Analysis With Buffering Effects

This study was designed to examine the prospective relations of perceived racial discrimination with allostatic load (AL), along with a possible buffer of the association. A sample of 331 African Americans in the rural South provided assessments of perceived discrimination from ages 16 to 18 years. When youth were 18 years, caregivers reported parental emotional support and youth assessed peer emotional support. AL and potential confounder variables were assessed when youth were 20. Latent growth mixture modeling identified two perceived discrimination classes: high and stable, and low and increasing. Adolescents in the high and stable class evinced heightened AL even with confounder variables controlled. The racial discrimination to AL link was not significant for young adults who received high emotional support.

U.S.-Produced Entertainment Media and Attitude Toward Americans

This study examines the relationship between Singaporean college students'attitude toward Americans and their exposure to U.S. exported entertainment media.

The 328 Singaporean college student participants expressed relatively neutral attitudes toward Americans and reported high consumption of U.S. entertainment media (movies, television shows, magazines, music). Exposure to American media was found to correlate positively with student attitudes toward Americans.

In contrast to some media critics' contention that exposure to U.S. media fosters negative attitudes among citizens of other countries, this study suggests that U.S. entertainment may influence attitude toward Americans in a positive direction.     

Competition and the decline in Western television program popularity in Indonesia during the 1990s

Despite the country's population base of 240 million, Indonesian television has not been widely explored in academic and professional venues. This paper examines the impact of competition on the popularity of foreign programs in the Indonesian market during the mid-1990s. Analyzing recently released ratings data from a television ratings service, this paper suggests that competition has given rise to the popularity of local programs, while foreign program popularity has declined steeply during the same three year period. The findings also suggest that cultural proximity is a factor of the popularity of programs. By 1997, Asian programs outnumbered Western programs on the top 100 highest rated program lists in Indonesia. We explore implications of study findings for filling this void in the literature.
