Program exclusivity and competition in the cable television industry

The authors argue that program exclusivity will be an important factor in the future of the cable television industry. They assert that prohibiting cable program exclusivity may limit the First Amendment rights of cable programmers and operators. The authors conclude that the best chance for increasing competition if program exclusivity continues is to increase the number of market participants.

Survey of Developmental Mathematics Courses at Colleges in the United States

Abstract

This study reports the results of a national survey of two and four-year colleges in 21 states in the United States. The study was undertaken at the direction of the Developmental Mathematics Committee of the American Mathematics Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC). The purpose of the study was to establish the state of the art of developmental mathematics. The results indicated that many colleges recognized the problem of underprepared students and had developmental mathematics programs. However, with the exception of a few schools, the colleges reported no formal evaluation of their programs.

征税方式对草原畜牧业的影响

长期以来,人们对草原生态经济问题成因的分析,往往忽视“以牲畜头数征税”这一制度因素,从而难以抓住问题的症结。牲畜头数征税方式给草原畜牧业带来的负面影响表现为：头数征税方式加重牧民负担;扭曲基层政府职能;淡化牧民的草场产权观念;加剧草原生态环境恶化等。牧区税收制度的变革,是草原畜牧业可持续发展的重要条件。     

师范大学生教师职业态度的现状研究

了解师范大学生教师职业态度的现状，为我国21世纪办好师范教育提供借鉴。方法：对甘肃省属七所高等师范院校的611名大学生采用自编的“教师职业态度调查问卷”、“对教师职业的期望和自我评价调查问卷”进行测查，并通过访谈结果作补充分析。结果：师范大学生的教师职业态度总体趋势是好的，但也存在不少一，即“高认识－高情感－低意志”的不协调状态。结论：师范大学生的教师职业态度现状不容乐观，必须给予高度重视。有效途径是加强师范大学生教师职业态度和职业精神的形成性教育，呼吁有关部门采取有效措施切实提高教师的整体地位。     

基于SSH的物流管理系统的设计与实现

针对当前物流管理软件存在的弊端,开发了具有适应性和针对性的物流管理系统.系统采用Struts实现表示层、Hibernate实现持久化机制和查询服务、Spring实现业务层,三者有效地集成,能够实现物流管理中车辆管理、财务管理和统计报表输出等功能.设计中采用Floyd最短路径算法,有效地解决了路径优化问题.
