This editorial examines the question of whether plagiarism may be on the increase in the social sciences and, if so, what needs to be done to keep the problem in check. It was prompted by the discovery of an alert reader in June 2007 that a 1993 paper in Research Policy appeared to have plagiarised a 1980 article in the Journal of Business. The allegation was investigated, and it was agreed by the Editors that the 1993 paper constituted a clear and serious case of plagiarism. However, the author concerned has published over 100 articles and books. Already, two other publications have been judged by the editors of the journals concerned to have plagiarised previous publications. Two more are under investigation, but the great majority of the remainder still remain to be checked. The fact that academic misconduct on this scale has gone unchecked over such a prolonged period raises serious issues about the efficacy of the processes used to police the conduct of researchers. Furthermore, the unexpected discovery that a paper by the author under investigation appears itself to have been plagiarised poses a fundamental question as to whether plagiarism may be far more common than previously assumed. The editorial concludes that a measured degree of vigilance and a greater willingness to pursue any well-founded suspicions of research misconduct are required by editors, referees, publishers and the wider academic community if the scourge of plagiarism is to be kept at bay. 相似文献
The dimensions and the materials type limit the performance of fuel cell. The increase of the temperature in electrodes and electrolyte of the cell,is due to the over potential of activation (transfer of load),the over potential Ohmic (resistance of polarization),the over potential of reaction (heat released by the chemical reaction) and the over potential of diffusion. In this paper,we studied the thermo-electrical performance of an intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cell (IT-SOFC) with electrode supported. The aim of this work is to study this increasing temperature of a single cell of an IT-SOFC under the influence of the following parameters: heat sources, functioning temperature and voltages of the cell, geometric configuration and materials type. The equation of energy in one dimension is numerically resolved by using the method of finite volumes. A computing program (FORTRAN) is developed locally for this purpose in order to obtain fields of temperature in every element of the cell. 相似文献
Abstract Two experiments were designed to further examine the levels of processing analysis of Bloom's taxonomy of the cognitive domain proposed by Kunen, Cohen & Solman (1981). In the first experiment six groups of secondary school students processed 20 principles at the levels of knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation respectively. The percentages of correctly recalled principle names, were adjusted for the fact that increasingly fewer students successfully completed the taxonomic orienting questions as their level increased from knowledge to evaluation. After adjustment these measures of incidental memory demonstrated a dichotomy of performance, with students who successfully synthesised or evaluated the material being superior. Also recorded in this experiment were measures of working memory and field dependence/independence. These scores proved to be better predictors of student performance on the taxonomic orienting tasks at the higher levels of the taxonomy, and they correctly ordered the levels of analysis, synthesis and evaluation. It was suggested that they provided some independent support for Bloom's contention that the complexity of the cognitive operations required to complete the taxonomic tasks increases with their level. The second experiment manipulated the six taxonomic orienting tasks in a repeated measures design, which required all students to process principles at each of the six levels in order from knowledge to evaluation. While there were minor differences in performance between the Year 7 and the Year 11 students who participated in this study, the adjusted incidental memory data again revealed a performance dichotomy with synthesis and evaluation forming the superior category. That the students demonstrated superior performance after synthesising and evaluating material, was interpreted as support for the continued practice of teaching them to operate at the higher taxonomic levels. This support was qualified, however, by noting that the benefits were confined to those who successfully completed the higher tasks.相似文献

The authors examined the peer feedback exchanged in 2 supervision groups of counselors‐in‐training (CITs). CITs generated 169 statements grouped into 10 clusters representing 5 regions of peer feedback: counselor focus and engagement, insight‐oriented skills, exploratory skills, therapeutic alliance, and intervention activities. Both positive and corrective peer feedback was exchanged on topics ranging from counselor performance skills to case conceptualization. 相似文献
