Competencies evaluation in engineering programmes

Results are reported in this paper from a study aimed at evaluating significant competencies in final-year students of some engineering programmes in Chile. The study was carried out by a group of eight universities that were interested in exploring ways to assess learning outcomes such as those demanded by the recent Chilean accreditation system. The authors actively participated in all stages of the study, contributing directly to the design, application and results evaluation of some tests. A sample of 150 students was tested, under conditions that guaranteed the comparability of results. In this paper the authors present results relating to the evaluation of effective communication. The study was backed up by a conceptual model and some hypotheses that are explained and discussed in this work.     

Embodiment,social praxis and environmental education: Some thoughts

The body has been neglected and devalued in Western philosophy. This neglect and devaluation of the body is rooted in dualistic reasoning that has its origin in Greek philosophical thought, and reinforced by philosophers of science during the scientific revolution of 17^th century Europe. Dualistic reasoning is in part the cause of current global environmental crises. Moreover, it underpins different approaches to environmental education. In this article I explore the nexus of embodiment and social praxis generally and more specifically in relation to the construct of race. Difference (including race difference) has been given scant attention in environmental education literature in South Africa and I attempt in this article to give it some attention so as to move it into the spaces of our dialogues and conversations.

本文试从叙事学中的叙事时间这一角度入手，对阿城的小说《棋王》进行时距方面的研究．通过对该小说中运用的省略与停顿手法的部分进行分析，剖析了这两种手法运用于文中的意义，并据此对文本进行解读，揭示其深刻性．     

Educational knowledge generation from administrative data

Most universities use Information Systems (IS) to perform their daily administrative activities (student enrollment, data files, accountancy, etc.), and an integrated Learning Management System (LMS) to support teaching and learning. However, although a lot of effort has been put into deploying these computerized systems, the data that they provide are not fully exploited from an educational perspective. In this paper we describe a case in which these data have been used to identify relevant relations between the general use of the LMS, the existence of teaching innovation programs and the quality of education. The method used can be easily generalized and employed in other different contexts, to derive meaningful information on the impact that some variables may have over others.     

Identifying key issues for university practitioners of garden-based learning in Spain

ABSTRACT

The presence of learning gardens in Spain is growing, and the current scenario is highly diverse in relation to issues such as participatory models or purposes, among others. In the context of the 1^st National Meeting on organic learning gardens, we convened eight expert practitioners in a focus group. Their discourse was analyzed through content analysis, after which four categories were selected for co-occurrence analyses. The most important questions for university garden-based practitioners in the country are presented, related to actors involved, functions that gardens fulfill, strengths of these educational resources, and requirements for their consolidation.     

中小学教师继续教育现存的问题与解决策略研究

随着教育改革的逐步深入,从"双基"到"三维目标"再到"核心素养",教育正从知识本位向人本位逐渐迁移,时代的变迁对中小学教师提出了更高的要求。但是,现阶段我国的中小学教师继续教育仍然存在许多不足和问题,笔者认为,要使中小学教师继续教育真正发挥实效,必须增大教师继续教育资金的投入,邀请一线教学经验丰富的名师担任讲师,变更培训时间,构建继续教育评价机制,从而让中小学教师继续教育健康、科学、有序地开展。     

浅谈社会因素对翻译标准选择的影响

翻译是一项社会活动，翻译标准的选择不可避免地会受到社会因素的影响。本文论述了翻译标准的选择受社会因素影响的必然性，并提出宗教、政治、经济、社会意识形态是影响翻译标准选择的主要社会因素。
