严格教学管理提高教学质量

本文重点阐述了普通高校成人教学计划的制定、教学管理制度的建立及加强考试管理工作的重要性.总结了新疆医科大学成人教育学院严格教学管理、提高教学质量所坚持的原则和采取的措施.并明确提出,要从成人高等教育改革入手,通过教育思路、教学内容和教学方法的改革,真正提高医学教育质量,营造起一个全方位的培养人才的大环境.     

职业教育面临的困境和出路

在改革开放的推动下,职业教育虽然有了长足发展,但是随着高校扩招、普高升温,职业学校陷入生源严重萎缩、生源质量下滑的发展瓶颈。职业教育只有不断深化改革,从自身寻找突破口,打造自己的办学特色,增强职业教育的市场竞争力,以市场需求为导向、以质量求生存,才能走出困境。     

运动生物化学实验教学与创新人才培养

高等学校的实验教学是作为培养学生实践能力、创新能力,提高学生综合素质的一个重要教学环节。运动生物化学是体育院校一门重要的专业基础课,具有较强的理论性,同时也是一门建立在实验基础上的学科,其理论和技术已广泛应用于运动训练和健身锻炼的指导和监控中,在培养高等体育人才方面起着十分重要的意义。笔者结合自身的教学经验,提出了运动生物化学实验教学内容与教学方法改革的意见,以期对运动生物化学课程教学改革有所启发和帮助。     

白鹤的生态学研究进展与展望

白鹤是一种珍稀濒危鹤类,是我国Ⅰ级重点保护物种,全球数量仅3 500—4 000只。白鹤繁殖于俄罗斯北部,迁徙停歇于我国松辽平原。鄱阳湖湿地是白鹤的重要越冬地,越冬种群约占全球数量的95%以上。20世纪80年代以来,国内外开展了大量该物种的生态学研究。本文梳理归纳了白鹤的繁殖、停歇、越冬等重要生活史过程中的生态学研究进展,并对今后的相关研究提出了展望,以期为白鹤的保护和管理工作提供基础性资料。     

Pedagogical Content Knowledge and the 2003 Science Teacher Preparation Standards for NCATE Accreditation or State Approval

The 2003 National Science Teachers Association Standards for Science Teacher Preparation (NSTA-SSTP) were developed to provide guidelines and expectations for science teacher preparation programs. This article is the fourth in a special JSTE series on accreditation written to assist science teacher educators in meeting the NSTA-SSTP. In this article, the authors discuss pedagogical content knowledge and how this is expressed in the NSTA-SSTP. Included are competencies and examples needed for a science teacher preparation program to document developing pedagogical content knowledge in preservice science teachers.     

‘I just find it boring’: Findings from an affective adolescent reading intervention

Research suggests that reading engagement and motivation are strong predictors of reading performance. Reading motivation may decline as students approach adolescence, resulting in less time spent with text. To date, there has been no research on how practitioners might directly support students to address affective factors in reading. In this exploratory case study, three disengaged, Year 8 readers received five sessions of an affective intervention aimed at helping them explore and challenge their own ambivalence towards reading. Quantitative and qualitative data from pre‐, post‐ and three‐month follow‐up indicated a range of benefits in relation to reading engagement and motivation, including improved self‐efficacy, increased participation and the usefulness of talking about affective factors in reading. Findings are further examined and implications for practitioners are discussed.     

The reciprocal relationship between motivation and self-regulation: A longitudinal study on academic performance

While previous studies have examined the single directional effects of motivation constructs in influencing students' use of self-regulatory strategies, few attempts have been made to unravel their interrelationship in a unified framework. In this study we adopt the social cognitive perspective and examine the reciprocal interplay between motivation and self-regulation constructs (as measured by the Learning and Study Strategies Inventory) in influencing academic performance. Based on two waves of measurements obtained from a large sample of undergraduates from a university in Hong Kong, a cross-lagged structural equation model identified significant reciprocal effects whereby students' self-regulation predicted their subsequent motivation. After controlling for prior academic achievement, student motivation was also found to be the strongest predictor of academic performance. The findings from this study have major implications for the importance placed on motivation and self-regulation as means of facilitating academic success.
