‘Welcome to the Olympic Victims Hotel’: Homelessness and the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games

This paper uses newspaper reports to document the experiences of people who were made homeless by the building frenzy surrounding the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, Quebec. What these reports show is that the ‘Olympic victims’, as they were named by the press, were displaced from their homes and dwellings due to rent hikes and demolition projects related to the Games. Then, they were further disadvantaged by falling through the cracks of an already struggling welfare system in Montreal. The findings from this paper address concerns surrounding claims to benefits and legacy discourses associated with the Games, while bringing attention and awareness to the lives of the people most at risk from Olympic development. In doing so, this paper also contributes to the small but growing body of literature that aims to document the stories of such displacement and extends that timeline to 1976.     

碳纳米点的制备及其非线性光限幅性能研究

以肝素钠为碳源,通过水热合成法制备碳纳米点（CNDs）,对所制得的CNDs形貌、组成及线性光学性能进行系统研究。结果表明,CNDs粒径均一,且表面富含羧基和羟基等官能团;在270 nm处有明显的紫外吸收峰。CNDs具有与激发波长相关的荧光特性,发射峰随激发波长增大的而红移。采用开孔Z-扫描法探索CNDs的非线性光学效应,结果表明,CNDs具有与能量相关的从饱和吸收向反饱和吸收转变的特性,其非线性吸收系数β和饱和能量IS分别为1.4×10^-11m/W和8×10¹⁰W/m²。     

用户对图书馆资源发现系统功能的期望——基于广州大学城高校图书馆学生用户的调研

以广州大学城8所高校图书馆的学生用户为调查对象,通过问卷调查,了解用户对资源发现系统各项功能的价值感知。调查总结出用户认为最有用的十大功能,发现研究生比本科生更加注重系统中资源揭示方面的功能。最后,着眼于图书馆部署资源发现系统的现实需求和高校图书馆的现状,结合调查结果,为图书馆引进资源发现系统提供参考性意见。     

IEEE 802.11无线网状网中的一种干扰感知的多径路由协议

基于IEEE 802.11 MAC层协议模型,提出一种新颖的能够描述多条路径之间干扰程度的多径路由判据IAMM,并以此为基础,提出一种新的干扰感知的多径路由IAMR协议.IAMR协议通过2次选路,在保证单条路径性能的同时兼顾考虑路径之间的干扰因素.仿真实验表明,IAMR协议在端到端延迟、数据包到达率和吞吐量等方面均有较明显的性能提升.

Comparing Indirect Effects in SEM: A Sequential Model Fitting Method Using Covariance-Equivalent Specifications

In social science research, an indirect effect occurs when the influence of an antecedent variable on the effect variable is mediated by an intervening variable. To compare indirect effects within a sample or across different samples, structural equation modeling (SEM) can be used if the computer program supports model fitting with nonlinear constraints. However, such an option is not routinely available in every popular software program. In this study, the basic idea of generating covariance-equivalent models in SEM is given and a sequential model fitting method is proposed as an alternative without the need to use nonlinear constraints. Under this method, the hypothesized model is transformed into a set of successive covariance-equivalent models so that an indirect effect is reparameterized as a single model parameter in the final transformed model. Real examples are given to illustrate how the proposed method is implemented using EQS, a SEM program that currently does not support the analysis with nonlinear constraints.

许诺是语用学研究中言语行为研究的话题之一。从许诺的言语者是否真心这一角度出发,许诺可分为真诚许诺和不真诚许诺。就目前来看,对于不真诚许诺言语行为的研究显得相对不足。Verschueren等提出的顺应论是从话语出发者和话语解释者的角度对言语进行分析,而并非对言语行为本身进行分析的理论框架。从Verschueren等提出的顺应论中语境顺应的角度出发,分析《老友记》中朋友和恋人之间不真诚许诺的行为,得出以下结论：说话者做出不真诚许诺是对语境的顺应,它具有同许诺一样的言外之力,保证了交际的顺利进行。     

Minimum phase robustness margin for second-order systems with multidirectional perturbations

The problem of minimum phase robustness for a second-order mass-dashpot-spring system is studied. The allowable margin for multidirectional perturbations of the input and output influence matrices is derived in terms of structured singular value to guarantee minimum phase of the system. Within the margin, the minimum phase property can still be ensured even the actuators and sensors are not collocated. To obtain less conservative results, the perturbation matrix with minimal dimension is derived in the paper. Two examples are used to illustrate the proposed approach.
