Students' different perceptions of task values influence their learning experience and achievement in physical education. Framed using the subjective task value construct, this study was conducted to determine the extent to which male and female Chinese middle schoolers with different body sizes differed in their perception of the task values. A second goal of the study was to identify the extent to which the task values along with gender and body size predicted students' performance on knowledge and physical skill tests. Data from a random sample of students (N = 860) from eight Chinese middle schools revealed that the boys appreciated intrinsic (p = .001) and utility values (p = 02); both boys and girls, however, equally appreciated the attainment value (p = .73). The boys performed better in physical skill tests than the girls (p = .001), whereas the girls scored higher in knowledge tests than the boys (p = .04). Regression analyses revealed that gender is the only predictor for performance on both knowledge and skill tests. Utility value and body size were predictors for skill, not for knowledge. These findings indicate that Chinese middle school boys and girls differed in valuing and achieving in physical education. The findings imply that Chinese boys need to strengthen cognitive learning and girls need to strengthen psychomotor skill development in physical education. 相似文献

OBJECTIVE: The present study examined mothers' and fathers' attributions and attitudes related to parenting in China. DESIGN: Interviews were conducted with 241 pairs of parents to obtain maternal and paternal reports of attributions regarding successes and failures in parent-child interactions and on progressive versus authoritarian attitudes about parenting. RESULTS: Mothers' mean levels of attributions and attitudes did not differ significantly from fathers' mean levels of attributions and attitudes. Significant correlations were found between mothers' and fathers' attributions regarding uncontrollable success, authoritarian attitudes, and modernity of attitudes. CONCLUSIONS: Supporting the cultural evolutionary view that drastic social changes bring about non-conforming and individualistic behavioral tendencies, these findings rectify and expand the existing literature portraying Chinese parenting as uniformly Confucian and traditional. 相似文献

The objective of this study was to develop an instrument to measure school students’ competence in learning science as part
of a large research project in Taiwan. The instrument consisted of 29 self-report, Likert-type items divided into 2 scales:
Competence in Scientific Inquiry and Competence in Communication. The Competence in Scientific Inquiry scale contained 4 subscales:
presenting questions and hypothesis, planning, experimenting and data gathering, and data analyzing, interpreting, and concluding.
The Competence in Communication scale contained 4 subscales: expressing, evaluating, responding, and negotiating. Students
were recruited randomly from primary, junior, and senior high schools in different regions of Taiwan to validate the instrument
and establish its reliability and validity. The results of the analyses indicate that the instrument, scales, and subscales
have reasonable internal consistency; that the theoretical structure was supported by empirical data; and that the subscales
are homogeneous. These results indicate that it is an appropriate tool for measuring students’ competence in learning science.
Implications and suggestions for further studies are included. 相似文献

The purpose of this study was to determine the services required by students in special education programs and to estimate
the cost of adequately funding special education in Taiwan. Questionnaires were administered to 300 special education teachers
at the elementary school level to identify the services required. Thereafter, two focus group interviews were organized to
determine the service categories and their cost. The results show that the costs for special education programs vary significantly
according to severity of disability, and the weighting for mildly, moderately, and severely disabled students was found to
be 3.7, 4.5, and 5.2, respectively. The costs also vary significantly according to the category of disability, and the weighting
was found to range from 3.6 for emotionally disabled students and to 5.9 for hearing impaired students. These findings suggest
that the current special education funding formula in Taiwan, which ignores these cost differences, should be revamped. 相似文献

权利质押是物权的一种担保方式。《物权法》将应收账款明确列入了可质押权利的范围,但对于应收账款质押的性质以及范围等问题还存在争议。在对权利质押的含义及可质押权利的种类进行阐述的基础上,文章就应收账款质押的独立性以及收费权质押的归属问题进行了论述,提出应收账款质押独立于债权转让,收费权质押应以收费权的性质不同讨论其是否归属于应收账款,并对应收账款设定质权应满足的条件进行了明确。最后结合实践对我国权利质押制度中的应收账款质押相关问题进行了探讨,以期构建我国《担保法》完整的理论体系。 相似文献
