The purpose of this study is to find out the frequency of TP53 mutations in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients and correlate sensitivity of drug response with TP53 mutations. In AML more than 90 % of cases comprise of wild type TP53. 94.2 % of TP53 mutations are found within exon 5–8 of which 73 % are point mutations. TP53 mutations were analysed with high resolution melting curve analysis. We analysed 106 AML samples of which we found nine mutations which represents 8.5 % mutation rate and found one rare SNP. The effect of TP53 mutations were studied on the chemosensitivity of two new drugs AZD115 and RHPS4, an Aurora Kinase B inhibitor and Telomerase inhibitor respectively. Four mutations were found out of 17 for RHPS4 stating significant (p = 0.002) increase in sensitivity and no mutation found in AZD1152 database, but need more study to get definite conclusion. 相似文献

This paper reports on the first stage of an investigation into monitoring and evaluating the impact of information management (IM) within a local government context. The overall study will utilise a combination of principles from various results-based, outcomes-based and social change approaches (Logical Framework Analysis, Most Significant Change, and Outcomes Mapping) in an attempt to move Leicestershire County Council away from a culture focused on traditional performance measurement, i.e. percentage change in use of services provided to the public, to something of real value. Interviews with 20 senior managers highlighted the important IM issues for Leicestershire County Council as a local government. These initial findings showed that maintaining high quality, trusted, and governed information and knowledge resources were of great value to the organisation. Analysis showed that 85% of senior managers interviewed considered IM to be “critical” in the achievement of organisational outcomes. Further analysis enabled the development of an initial framework indicating key areas where IM can have impact. These key areas will become the focus of further research, where applying a combination of approaches aforementioned will define the boundary partners, their specific outcomes and progress markers with possible impacts proposed. Data from 188 white and 97 black children supported the following conclusions: (a) A general cognitive factor prevailed throughout a group of tests including the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test administered at age 3 years, the Preschool Inventory, the Boehm Test of Basic Concepts (modified), and the Graham-Ernhart Copy-Forms Test administered at age 4 years; (b) Correlations of three scales of the Preschool Attainment Records and the Verbal Language Development Scale with the other measures were less consistent; (c) the correlations of the Quick Test with other tests were satisfactory for white children but inconsistent for a subsample (N = 18) of black children; (d) the standard deviations of the Quick Test IQs were excessively large; and (e) differential scoring of Preschool Inventory subtests was not supported. 相似文献

This paper explores the implications of thedevelopment and extension of national andinternational intellectual property regimes (IPRs) forthe liberal university. It argues that dynamics setinto motion by IPRs are eroding the university'sability to reproduce itself in two ways. On the onehand, IPRs are reducing the university's ability todraw on and to replenish the intellectual commonswhich is one fundamental precondition of its survival.IPRs are also preventing academics from fulfillingtheir public service mission which may undermine thepopular support for the university that is alsocrucial to its survival. These two mutuallyreinforcing developments are making it increasinglydifficult for the liberal university to continue on asit has. Indeed, they are producing a qualitativetransformation of the institution that will be verycostly to society, in both economic and social terms.The paper argues that although current developmentspose very serious threats to the liberal university'sfuture, there is still time to intervene in order topreempt or to alter them. The Forest School movement, an important part of education in Scandinavia, has gained momentum in the UK in recent years. Within the context of declining access to, and engagement with, the natural environment Forest Schools can provide invaluable life experiences for our children. In 2012 the University of Northampton investigated opportunities to develop part of its campus as a forest site for use by schools and to enhance its students' learning. A researcher from the university evaluated the impact of visits made by children from the pilot primary school through a series of pupil, staff and parent interviews. Analysis of the interview data showed that evidence of impact was anecdotal and it was clear that a systematic approach was needed. The university and school have collaborated in developing a toolkit for evaluating this impact, which will act as a starting point to support other schools visiting the site. 相似文献
