IN THIS STUDY the relationship between perceived competence and performance was addressed, notably with respect to motor behaviour. In addition to Harter's (1985) perceived competence questionnaire, a motor skills test was administered to a group of 128 4th grade children of regular elementary schools. From this sample two samples were chosen. One group (N= 40) was involved in motoric remedial teaching classes, a group of classmates (N =38) was selected as a matched comparison group from the remainder of the sample. Both groups were compared on each of the measuring instruments. The motoric remedial teaching group scored significantly lower than the group of classmates on perceived athletic competence and on motor skills performance. Further, a significant difference was observed between both groups on the correlation coefficient between perceived athletic competence and motor skills performance. The results provide information which externally validates the notion of perceived competence; they also underline the relevance of the concept of perceived athletic competence in the field of motoric remedial teaching.  相似文献

Research on the facilitative effect of diagrams on solving mathematics problems is both inconsistent and inconclusive. This study investigates the effects of diagrams on 124 Singaporean pupils in three classes: Primary One and three, and Secondary One. Pupils' performance was measured with the use of teacher-written mathematics problems in the form of worksheets. Number of errors made on problems accompanied with and without diagrams were compared. Whether or not pupils benefit from diagrams was estimated by their patterns of errors made in the presence or absence of diagrams. Results both confirm and disconfirm previous findings and shed further light on the use of diagrams in mathematics.  相似文献

The current study used a dyadic and coconstructive approach to examine how to embed exercises that support executive functioning into early literacy instruction to empower its effects. Using a randomized controlled trial design with 100 children, we examined the effects of dyadic activities in which children scaffolded each other’s learning and behavior through structured questioning procedures. This group was contrasted with a control group whose dyads observed each other while working with the same literacy exercises and with a business-as-usual control group. Research Findings: Results showed that the experimental group showed greater progress in letter knowledge. Further analyses indicated that these results were mainly driven by children with higher levels of executive functions. Practice or Policy: These results suggest that young children are able to regulate each other’s learning behavior during preacademic exercises in dyadic contexts but may need more external control from a teacher when their executive function levels are low.  相似文献

经过解放后50多年的发展,青岛市城区零售商业已经形成多种零售业态相互竞争,多级商业中心同时发展的局面。但在零售业态的结构、各种零售业态的组织形式以及空间布局方面仍存在一些问题。今后零售业态发展与布局的对策建议是:(1)控制大型百货商店的发展,对现有的大型百货商店进行功能改造;(2)大型国有零售企业要通过兼并、合并来迅速扩大规模,增强竞争能力;(3)积极发展连锁经营;(4)适度引进外资零售商业;(5)合理布局商业中心,加强各级商业中心的建设。  相似文献

While universal school‐based social and emotional learning (SEL) programs claim to target various SEL competencies, earlier reviews have not provided a clear overview of the competencies in question. We therefore wished to identify the competencies targeted in SEL programs for secondary school students. We also aimed to examine the effects of these programs on SEL competencies and psychosocial health. The specific SEL competencies directly addressed in the programs' primary learning targets were identified based on the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL) framework for SEL. Five bibliographic databases (PubMed, PsychINFO, Education Resources Information Center (ERIC), Applied Science Premier (ASP), and Web of Science) were searched for relevant research papers published between 2014 and 2018. We included 40 studies that investigated 32 programs focusing on two or more SEL competencies. While most programs targeted four or five of the SEL competencies, many of the included studies did not measure the programs' effects on all the competencies targeted. Our results showed that the SEL programs had substantial effects on the SEL competencies they addressed and on psychosocial health. Although the programs focused predominantly on self‐management skills and relationship skills, the largest summary effects were found for self‐awareness and social awareness.  相似文献
