AbstractGyro sensor has been used to measure foot pronation during running with reliable results in previous studies, and the signals were not affected by the vibration of heel strikes. The purpose of this study was to observe the kinematic changes of the foot during intense running using a 3-axis gyro sensor. Fifteen male participants (average age: 24.5 ± 1.7 years; mean height: 174.1 ± 3.3 cm; mean body weight: 71.0 ± 5.5 kg) were recruited in this study. Foot kinematic changes were observed in 30-min intense running protocols. The comparisons of the signals from gyro and motion analysis system were also performed to determine the accuracy of the gyro and showed positive results. In the main experiment, the ankle range of motion (ROM) in the frontal plane, measured using a motion system, showed a significant increase over time. Accordingly, peak angular velocity in the frontal plane also showed a significant increase. The correlation between ankle ROM and peak angular velocity in the frontal plane is significantly high (r = 0.975). Moreover, peak angular velocity in the frontal plane is also significantly correlated with both rate of perceived exertion (RPE) (r = 0.911) and heart rate (r = 0.960). This study concluded that an alarm system for foot kinematic changes related to running injuries can be built based on the peak angular velocity of the foot in the frontal plane. 相似文献

The present study aimed at identifying core components of reading instruction in Chinese within the framework of the tiered
intervention model. A curriculum with four teaching components of cognitive-linguistic skills was implemented in a Program
school for 3 years since Grade 1. The findings showed that the Tier 1 intervention was effective in enhancing the literacy
and cognitive-linguistic skills of children in the Program school. The positive effects were maintained at the end of Grade
2. Progress in both word-level and text-level cognitive-linguistic skills predicted significantly progress in reading comprehension.
Based on the present findings, the four core reading components in Chinese were proposed—oral language, morphological awareness,
orthographic skills, and syntactic skills. Comparing the Big Five in English and the four core components in Chinese reflects

An attempt is made to highlight the need for a more nuanced approach in considering the Confucian education tradition and its compatibility with education reforms. Primary school teachers rated the frequency of occurrence of 65 reading‐related behavioural characteristics in a sample of 251 Grade 1 to Grade 6 Chinese school children in Hong Kong. These behavioural characteristics were in the areas of general performance, reading, dictation, writing, mathematics, language, memory, concentration, sequential ability, motor co‐ordination, spatial orientation, and social/emotional adjustment. Of these 12 areas, 10 yielded scale scores that could distinguish children with dyslexia from those without dyslexia, identified on the basis of their performance in five domains of literacy and cognitive skills. Using a summary score derived from the 10 relevant scales, an optimal cut‐off score was suggested to arrive at a balance between high sensitivity and an acceptable rate of false positives in screening for children with dyslexia. The need for cross‐replication in screening children with dyslexia using the behaviour checklist with different samples of school students is emphasised. 相似文献

The present report is based on three pilot projects that aimed to explore and describe teachers' perceptions of their training and the transition experience of teachers in the shift from being a student on a teacher training programme to being a full-fledged teacher in the primary or secondary school. The three studies were prompted by the concern for a possible lack of fit, even under the best circumstances, between pre-service training and the work of a full-time teacher in a typical school. The present study adapted the “Blueprint of the Reader” in comprehending language by Perfetti [2000, C. M. Brown & P. Hagoort.
(Eds.), The neurocognition of language (pp. 167–208). Oxford, UK: Oxford University Press] as a framework for understanding Chinese language and reading comprehension
in a group of 361 secondary Forms 1, 3 and 4 Cantonese-speaking Chinese students (mean age of 15 years) in Hong Kong. This
framework with some modifications was tested with nine specially designed Chinese language and reading tasks with reasonably
high reliability and surface validity. The main hypothesis was that lexical knowledge consisting of derivational morphology;
correction of characters, words and sentences; segmentation of text into phrases and sentences; and writing to dictation should
explain considerable individual variations, as shown in the English literature. This was tested with component analyses and
multiple regression analyses. The total battery accounted for 66.80% of the variation while lexical knowledge alone explained
33.51% of the individual variation in the overall school performance in Chinese reading and writing. The second hypothesis
was that subgroups of poor and good language and reading comprehenders in Chinese would be expected to show overlapping yet
different component structures and their performance in the individual component tasks would be expected to differ as tested
with analyses of variance. The results confirmed this hypothesis. Task analyses of the written protocols of essay writing
and of morphological processing (prefixing and suffixing) provided insight into well-formed and poorly formed writing and
word formation according to principles of Chinese psycholinguistics and yielded information for theory-based practice. 相似文献

In this work, we demonstrate the use of stereolithographic 3D printing to fabricate millifluidic devices, which are used to engineer particles with multiple compartments. As the 3D design is directly transferred to the actual prototype, this method accommodates 3D millimeter-scaled features that are difficult to achieve by either lithographic-based microfabrication or traditional macrofabrication techniques. We exploit this approach to produce millifluidic networks to deliver multiple fluidic components. By taking advantage of the laminar flow, the fluidic components can form liquid jets with distinct patterns, and each pattern has clear boundaries between the liquid phases. Afterwards, droplets with controlled size are fabricated by spraying the liquid jet in an electric field, and subsequently converted to particles after a solidification step. As a demonstration, we fabricate calcium alginate particles with structures of (1) slice-by-slice multiple lamellae, (2) concentric core-shells, and (3) petals surrounding the particle centers. Furthermore, distinct hybrid particles combining two or more of the above structures are also obtained. These compartmentalized particles impart spatially dependent functionalities and properties. To show their applicability, various ingredients, including fruit juices, drugs, and magnetic nanoparticles are encapsulated in the different compartments as proof-of-concepts for applications, including food, drug delivery, and bioassays. Our 3D printed electro-millifluidic approach represents a convenient and robust method to extend the range of structures of functional particles. 相似文献
