提出用3Ds max软件设计天体系统三维模型、用Cult 3D软件为模型添加旋转和移动等交互功能、在Flash软件中完成二维动态光影效果、在网页中通过JavaScript语言实现其交互的三维虚拟系统设计思想;以演示日食、月食的成因及天体运行的相关知识为例,设计创作太阳系三维虚拟场景,其中三维虚拟模型可与Flash对象交互,相关动态光影效果可同步显示;同时,介绍该实例可实现的各项教学功能与特点,探究虚拟现实技术引入教学的应用前景。     

The Tensions of Urban School Renewal in an Era of Reform

The faculty and administration of a school of education in the mid-Atlantic region formally adopted a standards-based, conceptual framework that reflects the values articulated by the faculty and the outcomes for students as they prepare for and develop in their professions. Faculty and administrators agreed to use the framework as the basis for examining professional programs, academic courses, and professional experiences, as well as for governing interactions with one another as colleagues. This article describes the conceptual framework, its goals, research used to evaluate the framework, and the outcomes attained.     

The Homeschooling of Scout Finch

Harper Lee’s novel To Kill a Mockingbird is one of the most widely taught texts in language arts classrooms through the English-speaking world and is greatly valued by many readers today for its depiction of youth grappling with racism in the American South of the Depression Era. However, the novel’s subtle and sustained critique of public education has remained largely unrecognised. This essay identifies in the novel an underlying nostalgia for the past homeschooling of Southern white aristocracy as well as disdain for modern public institutions and for the democratic values that those institutions seek to instil in youth.     

EFFECTS OF AGE AND INSTRUCTIONS ON TEACHING OLDER ADULTS TO USE ELDERCOMM,AN ELECTRONIC BULLETIN BOARD SYSTEM

This study focused on how to train older adults to perform computer procedures. Young-old (aged 60 74 years) and old-old (aged 75 years and older) adults were instructed on how to use ELDERCOMM , an electronic bulletin board system using one of two types of text-based instructions. The first set of directions consisted of illustrated, step-by-step instructions (simple condition). The second set of directions included the same step-by-step instructions as in the first set, but explanatory information about how the bulletin board system worked was added before the
