唐中期后,金吾卫军是南衙控制的最重要的宫禁力量,因而被李训集团用来参与宫变.甘露之变失败的原因,很大程度上是因为金吾卫军行动的失败,而这又系于将领的无能和胆怯.虽然李训集团对宦官控制的神策军有所防范,但金吾卫军与之相比,实力相差悬殊,故李训集团不得不铤而走险利用伏兵形式消灭宦官.从宏观角度来看,甘露之变是一场南衙士大夫利用宫中金吾卫军,重新夺回禁军控制权的宫变.     

A New Method for Assessing the Statistical Significance in the Differential Functioning of Items and Tests (DFIT) Framework

A new item parameter replication method is proposed for assessing the statistical significance of the noncompensatory differential item functioning (NCDIF) index associated with the differential functioning of items and tests framework. In this new method, a cutoff score for each item is determined by obtaining a (1 −α) percentile rank score from a frequency distribution of NCDIF values under the no-DIF condition by generating a large number of item parameters based on the item parameter estimates and their variance-covariance structures from a computer program such as BIILOG-MG3. This cutoff for each item can be used as the basis for determining whether a given NCDIF index is significantly different from zero. This new method has definite advantages over the current method and yields cutoff values that are tailored to a particular data set and a particular item. A Monte Carlo assessment of this new method is presented and discussed.     

Contemporary Classics? The Early Onset of Influence of Articles Published in Criminology and Criminal Justice Journals, 2010–2015

Citation analysis is a valuable method for tracking the growth and transmission of scientific knowledge. In criminology and criminal justice, such analyses tend to be focused on “classic” works or on highly cited scholars over many years. As an alternative approach, we focus on work that has been cited rather quickly – what we term the “early onset” of impact. In doing so, we identified 221 of the most highly cited peer-reviewed articles, authored by 480 scholars, which were published in criminology and criminal justice journals between 2010 and 2015. Analyses reveal wide variation in substantive topics and methodological approaches, as well as a substantial gender gap with respect to authorship. Additional analyses provide insight into both journal and institutional/program prestige. We conclude with directions for future research and stress the importance of tracking over time articles that appear to be off to an early start with respect to scholarly impact.     

Parent-teacher conference communication: a guide to integrating family engagement through simulated conversations about student academic progress

Abstract

Teachers regularly communicate with families, yet few candidates are well-prepared for this professional activity. This gap can hinder family–school partnership and pupils’ success. Given that candidates’ opportunities to learn about family engagement (FE) depends on the decisions and values of individual teacher educators, we illustrate how FE can be integrated into an existing educator preparation programme. Specifically, we describe how to design and use simulated parent–teacher conferences (PTCs) to: foster candidates’ conference communication skills; assess their understanding of content knowledge and their ability to plan instruction. Specifically, we designed two simulation tasks that required candidates’ to analyse and respond to a given student assessment profile and then share their interpretation of the information in ways that developed parent–teacher partnership. Modelled after simulation-based medical education, we describe three steps teacher educators can take to integrate simulated PTCs into their existing curriculum. To illustrate how and why simulations impact professional readiness, we also describe the advantages, sequence and psychological processes of simulation training. A sample of candidate profiles across the two tasks are shared to illustrate what candidates take away from their experiences and the kinds of findings faculty may encounter when integrating simulation pedagogy.     

Video Production Technology in Australian Higher Education

The paper describes the present state of the art of video programme production in Australian tertiary education, discusses the identity of the decision‐makers in the production sequence, and assesses the importance of video aesthetics. Against the background of some Australian media departments' production and hardware philosophy, the author describes four series of programmes produced at the ACUE.     

Modelling and Simulation of System Dynamics of Hybrid-Driven Precision Press

Different from conventional mechanical systems with single degree of freedom (DOF),the main idea of the system of hybrid-driven precision press is to combine the motion of a constant speed motor with a servomotor via a two-DOF mechanism to provide flexible output. In order to make the feasibility clear, this paper studies theoretically the dynamic characteristics of this hybriddriven mechanical system. Firstly,the dynamics model of the whole electromechanical system is set up by combining dynamic equations of DC motors with those of two-DOF nine-bar mechanism deduced by the Lagrange‘s formula. Secondly through the numerical solution with the fourth Runge-Kutta, computer simulation about the dynamics is done, which shows that the designed and optimized hybrid-driven precision press is feasible in theory. These provide theoretical basis for later experimental research.
