澳门特区免费幼儿教育政策研究

澳门特区自2007～2008学年开始实施15年免费教育,即9年义务教育、3年高中教育和3年学前教育免费.研究者运用网络调查及访谈法,对澳门特区免费幼儿教育政策进行研究,结果发现:(1)免费幼儿教育政策只适用于6家公办幼儿园和42家加入免费教育学校系统的私立幼儿园.(2)7家未加入免费教育学校系统的私立幼儿园需缴学费、补充服务费和选择性服务费,但可获政府发放的学费津贴和书簿费.家长很满意这一政策,并表示愿意继续送孩子上收费的私立幼儿园.(3)受访园(校)长、家长及教师对澳门的免费幼儿教育政策都很满意,教师特别满意政府推出的幼儿园教师津贴.(4)免费幼儿教育政策对私立园所的影响有所不同:有些私立园所为了生存而选择加入免费教育学校系统,有些私立园所则为了校政自主而选择不加入免费教育学校系统.客观上,高收费门槛令不同阶层家庭的幼儿自然分流.     

High school students’ scientific epistemological beliefs,motivation in learning science,and their relationships: A comparative study within the Chinese culture

This study explored the differences in high school students’ scientific epistemological beliefs (SEBs), motivation in learning science (MLS), and the different relationships between them in Taiwan and China. 310 Taiwanese and 302 Chinese high school students’ SEBs and MLS were assessed quantitatively. Taiwanese students generally were more prone to believe that scientific reality is invented, the development of scientific knowledge is culture-dependent, and scientific knowledge is always changing and its status is tentative than the Chinese students were. Yet, the Taiwanese students perceived higher test anxiety in science than the Chinese students did. Moreover, Chinese students who have a stronger belief that science knowledge is changing and tentative are more likely to perceive themselves as having higher test anxiety in science. The results suggest that the role of culture might have an impact on students’ SEBs and their MLS.     

Sampled-data predictive control for uncertain jump systems with partly unknown jump rates and time-varying delay

This paper presents a sampled-data predictive control strategy for a class of uncertain continuous-time Markovian jump linear system (MJLS) with time-varying delay. The system under consideration covers MJLS with completely known jump rates and arbitrary switched linear system. The predictive formulation utilizes both off-line and on-line optimization paradigms. The feasibility of the control scheme and the stability of the closed-loop system are investigated by introducing a modified stochastic invariant ellipsoid. The conditions for the existence of a stabilizing optimal controller for the underlying system are obtained via the semi-definite programming (SDP). A numerical example is given to verify efficiency and potential of the developed approach.

A comparison of scientific epistemological views between mainland China and Taiwan high school students

This study investigates the similarities and differences between high school students from Taiwan and China in terms of their scientific epistemological views. In addition, the effects of age and gender on scientific epistemological views were also examined. The results indicate that the students from these two localities, which signify two similar yet different cultures, are substantially different in five out of the six dimensions. Age and gender were also found to have significant effects in some dimensions. Implications for future research were discussed at the end of the paper.     

A framework for developing pre‐service teachers’ competencies in using technologies to enhance teaching and learning

This paper presents a framework for developing pre‐service teachers’ competencies in using technologies to enhance teaching and learning. It focuses on building the capacity of teacher education institutions (TEI) based on six strategic dimensions: (1) vision and philosophy; (2) program; (3) professional learning of deans, teacher educators and support staff; (4) ICT plan, infrastructure, resources and support; (5) communications and partnerships; and (6) research and evaluation. This paper describes each of these six strategic dimensions and synthesizes these in the overall framework for developing pre‐service teachers’ competencies in generating technology‐enhanced teaching and learning.     

A constrained linear quadratic optimization algorithm toward jerk-decoupling cartridge design

Linear direct feed drives are widely used in machine tools, but an abrupt counter force from the secondary part will induce the jerk to the metro frame contacted with the linear motor and cause the vibration of auxiliary devices on it. The jerk-decoupling cartridge (JDC) provides a buffer to reduce such an impact. Design target for such a system includes both the tracking error and the jerk induced to the metro frame. To achieve both targets systematically, this work presents an integrated approach to efficiently determine parameters in the JDC and the position controller of the feed drive. The problem is firstly formulated as a nonlinear constrained optimization problem, which is then converted to a series of projection gradient optimization problems and step searching problems, which are either convex or linear. Thus, fast convergence of parameters are achieved within first several iterations. Through a series of simulation, the effectiveness of proposed methodology is verified.

无线网络是术，才能确保安全性。本笔简要分析了802目前最热门的网络技术之一，但其安全性功能相对较少，须借助其它的网络安全技．11 WLAN安全性缺陷，分析了Windiws网络中WLAN不同接入内部网络的方式及其安全技术特点．具体说明了在W2K中强化802．11无线网络安全性网络结构设计、服务器端的PPTP、L2TP IPSec设置和无线客户端的设置。     

Rethinking classroom-oriented instructional development models to mediate instructional planning in technology-enhanced learning environments

Although classroom-oriented instructional development (ID) models have the potential to help teachers think and plan for effective instruction with technology, research studies have shown that they are not widely employed. Many of these models have not factored in the complexities that teachers faced when planning for instruction in technology-enhanced learning environments (TELE). They also fail to facilitate teachers’ critical re-examination of their existing practices and exploration of other practices to take up the affordances of technologies for effective instruction. Adopting an activity theoretical perspective towards instructional planning in the TELE, this paper examines two existing ID models: Reiser and Dick [1996. Instructional planning: A guide for teachers. Boston: Allen and Bacon] and Morrison, Ross, and Kemp [2004. Designing effective instruction (4th ed.) New York: Wiley]. It then constructs a classroom-oriented expansive and reflective ID model that: (1) facilitates the teacher's re-examination of their existing practices to identify contradictions in his/her instructional planning process in the TELE; (2) treats the ID elements in a nonlinear and non-sequential way; (3) accounts for the decisions made by other participants in the TELE, especially students and other teachers; (4) supports teachers’ formulation of solutions to the contradictions and transforms practices to take up the affordances of technology in the TELE; and (5) recognizes the need for teachers to move beyond the current activity by reflecting upon it so as to enable the emergence of new norms of practice.
