用于光电检测的V/F脉宽调制电路设计

针对V/F电路脉宽调制受限的问题,根据单稳态触发电路的脉宽调制原理并结合光电检测实际应用时的信号转换要求,设计了一种能够准确获得能匹配数字相关器的脉宽信号的V/F转换电路。这种电路脉宽输出可以维持在30 ns,优于一般的V/F电路,具有结构简单、转换频率高、转换时间短、线性度小等优点。

Lipid Peroxidation Correlates with HIVmRNA in Serodiscordant Heterosexual HIVpartners of Nigerian Origin

We recruited 59 individuals of known HIV serostatus after informed consent however, 44 were serodiscordant heterosexual partners [serodiscordant seronegative (SSN group) and serodiscordant seropositive (SSP group)] while 15 were seronegative healthy individuals (SNH). In the case–control study we choose to determine Malondialdehyde (MDA) concentration as a marker of lipid peroxidation index (oxidative stress) spectrophotometrically and quantify HIV mRNA by Real Time-nucleic acid sequence based amplification assay (RT-NASBA). Here our result show for the first time a high concentration of lipid peroxidation product (MDA, 116.6%) with a significant (P < 0.05) increase in HIV serodiscordant seropositive subjects over their seronegative partners. However, Spearman rank correlation statistics of SSP group showed a positive correlation value (P < 0.01, r = 0.89) between MDA and mRNA and a negative correlation between MDA and T-cell ratio (P < 0.01, r = 0.96).The study may strongly indicate a possible lipid peroxidation product threshold for predicting HIV infection and progression in serodiscordant heterosexual partners.     

One-arm maximal strength training improves work economy and endurance capacity but not skeletal muscle blood flow

Maximal strength training with a focus on maximal mobilization of force in the concentric phase improves endurance performance that employs a large muscle mass. However, this has not been studied during work with a small muscle mass, which does not challenge convective oxygen supply. We therefore randomized 23 adult females with no arm-training history to either one-arm maximal strength training or a control group. The training group performed five sets of five repetitions of dynamic arm curls against a near-maximal load, 3 days a week for 8 weeks. This training increased maximal strength by 75% and improved rate of force development during both strength and endurance exercise, suggesting that each arm curl became more efficient. This coincided with a 17-18% reduction in oxygen cost at standardized submaximal workloads (work economy), and a 21% higher peak oxygen uptake and 30% higher peak load during maximal arm endurance exercise. Blood flow assessed by Doppler ultrasound in the axillary artery supplying the working biceps brachii and brachialis muscles could not explain the training-induced adaptations. These data suggest that maximal strength training improved work economy and endurance performance in the skeletal muscle, and that these effects are independent of convective oxygen supply.     

The state and the problems of the education in the sphere of clinical laboratory diagnostics in Ukraine

The question of the medical laboratories staff training is currently in the focus of attention in Ukraine. Laboratory technicians with a college degree are prepared in the medical colleges for two or four years depending on school educational level. During their practice they are assessed every five years on completing the additional improving course. The position and their job responsibilities are defined by the Ministry of Health Protection. Bachelors of clinical laboratory diagnostics (CLD) are trained in medical universities obtaining the appropriate license. The position and their job responsibilities are similar to laboratory technicians' ones. The CLD specialists are prepared by the CLD departments in the medical academies of postgraduate education or medical universities' faculties of postgraduate studies. Those graduates, who have already acquired a degree in Medicine or Biology are eligible for the training program. Biologists pass courses of specialization for five month whereas doctors pass the specialization for ten month including four month practice. If the doctors wish, they can do the masters degree program within doing the specialization. However, because their position and job responsibilities are not determined by the Ministry of Health Protection of Ukraine, masters are allowed to practice their profession at the level of specialists. The specialists that practice clinical biochemistry, laboratory immunology, microbiology and medical genetics have to take the additional appropriate two-three month specialization courses. During their practice, specialists are assessed every five years. For assessment the commission takes into account the quantity of credits that a specialist has received within five years. Credits are earned for attending the scientific conferences, publishing scientific works, books or handbooks, professional training and pre-assessment module courses. The position and their responsibilities are defined by the Ministry of Health Protection of Ukraine. Currently there is no system in Ukraine for higher academic education for professionals in clinical laboratory diagnostics. We are aware of this fact and are committed to the improvement of the Ukrainian teaching clinical laboratory diagnostics system.
