This paper traces the origins of the current dissatisfaction with the term physical education. A retrospective–comparative overview is given of the major conceptual trends and structural developments that have arisen since the academic status of physical education has been questioned. This quest starts in the United States in 1964, then moves to the Francophone sphere, on to Germany and Great Britain, and ends in the Low Countries. Four major conceptual trends are identified which are disciplinary, multi- or inter-disciplinary or cross-disciplinary in nature. In an attempt to integrate these divergent approaches, the concept of kinanthropology is presented as an epistemological claim and a common denominator for both the science and the professional applications concerned with humans in movement. 相似文献

In our study, we examine some theoretically relevant personal factors as predictors of students’ acquisition of knowledge of management accounting, a key area of business and economics studies in higher education. We modeled and assessed business and economics students’ knowledge of management accounting in Germany using an internationally proven accounting test that has been translated and adapted and comprehensively validated for higher education in Germany. A review of the international literature showed that potential predictors might include not only learning opportunities students have used during and prior to higher education, but also students’ socio-cultural background and gender. These factors were assessed in a survey of 1012 students studying at 23 institutions of higher education. Not surprisingly, a multilevel analysis confirmed that among the learning opportunities a course in management accounting has the greatest effect on students’ knowledge of management accounting. But when other potential predictors are controlled, completion of a commercial vocation training prior to university studies shows a positive effect, as well. 相似文献

This paper combines perspectives on nonprofit organizations, clubs and club goods, demand for performing arts, and demand for charitable contributions to consider relationships between nonprofit organizations in the performing arts and their patrons. A broad view is taken of factors influencing demand for club goods, charitable donations, and for the live performing arts. These are integrated in a model of demand for the outputs and services of nonprofits in the performing arts. Data from a single institution is used to test hypotheses. Teachers in institutions of higher musical training are experts in their field of performance, but frequently have limited knowledge of the dynamics of individual teaching and learning. Seven performance lecturers with little or no formal training as teachers, together with their students, took part in the present investigation. The seven cases were studied by means of participant observation and informal interviews. The qualitative data were subsequently submitted to a content analysis. The results showed that the lecturers’ inflexibility, insensitivity to individual needs, unreasonable demands and dominance, along with an unsatisfactory balance in their instructional strategy were all potential inhibitors of artistic development, and were therefore also potential stressors for musicians to be.

Section 1 introduces the hypothesis that competition among neighboring states may favor cultural innovation, and it surveys
the available quantitative evidence. Section 2 starts from the assumption that European instrumental music had its breakthrough
during the Baroque era and that the most famous composers came from the two countries characterized by the highest degree
of political fragmentation: Italy and Germany. It suggests that political fragmentation has promoted musical composition and
performance in several ways. The average duration of employment is proposed as a proxy for competition on the demand side.
Section 3 shows that the most famous Italian and German composers of the Baroque period changed their employers significantly
more often than their French and British counterparts did. Moreover, the Reformation led to musical competition between the
Catholic and Protestant churches. Section 4 argues that competition for composers has also been important in other periods
of European history – including competition between the Church and the courts. It shows that composers moved no less in the
Renaissance than in the Baroque. Section 5 raises the question whether European music may also be said to express a competitive
spirit.
