Applying scientific openmindedness to religion and science education

Mahner's and Bunge's two main theses are nearly correct as social reports but the extent to which they are wrong is philosophically very important. I draw attention to a philosophically superior way of viewing the essential relation between science and religion which can have a humane or benign influence upon how both science and religion are taught. On the one hand, science does not need to fight religion nor try to suppress it. A generous openness of mind, which distinguishes the critical rationality implicit in the advance of science, deserves to be applied without acrimony to any systems of thought that purport to explain the universe. On the other hand, religions have no need to fear the growth of scientific knowledge, provided science is not confused, as Mahner and Bunge confuse it, with its materialistic interpretation.

论休谟的德性效用价值论

德性就是一种品质,是指任何事物的特长、用处和功能。德性对于人而言视为品质,而对于物而言可视为性质。在休谟以前,西方伦理学家们一般强调德性之"因其自身的缘故"成为人们所普遍追求的意义,即德性的内在善。但是休谟的观点与此不同,他认为德性的真正价值在于它的外在善,即品质对他人或社会的作用。因而他不再把德性之善,仅仅看作"因其自身的缘故"成为人们所普遍追求的东西,而是更喜欢把德性之善看作"因其结果的缘故"成为人们所普遍追求的东西。正因为如此,休谟改变了西方伦理学的传统,把德性之事实判断与价值判断相应地分开,从而把讨论的重点引向了德性之"效用"或"有用"。     

基于泛在化学习模式的大学英语教学改革研究

随着"泛在计算时代"(Ubiquitous computing Age)的来临,教育界提出了泛在学习(Ubiquitous learning)的概念。该文首先对泛在学习进行概述,其次通过对于大学外语泛在化学习环境的建构与管理的分析,指出在以培养学生外语综合运用能力及综合文化素养为核心目标的大学外语课程体系中,泛在学习对促进大学英语教学有着深远的意义。

基于虚拟现实技术的牛顿环实验设计

以大学物理中的牛顿环实验为例,开发了以3DS max、Cult3D、JavaScript和Flash为核心设计技术的大学物理虚拟实验,弥补了传统实验中的缺陷.介绍了虚拟牛顿环实验的开发流程、实现内容及操作方法等,对大学物理实验内容和虚拟技术之间的有效交融进行了研究.通过与传统实验结果的对比,彰显了虚拟技术在现实中应用的优越性.     

Social persistence following failure in boys and girls with LD

The response of boys and girls with or without learning disabilities to social failure was examined. Children participated in two dyadic interactions with experimental confederates: an unfriendly interaction and a friendly one. The children's behavior was videotaped, and they answered questions following each interaction. The children with learning disabilities were found to be hyperresponsive to both interactions: They felt significantly worse following the unfriendly one and significantly better following the friendly interaction. Limited evidence was found to suggest that girls with learning disabilities were more adversely affected by the unfriendly interaction. Several of the findings were consistent with the hypothesis that children with learning disabilities show a learned helplessness response to social failure. The implications of these findings for understanding the social behavior of children with learning disabilities are discussed.     

Collisionless tool orientation smoothing above blade stream surface using NURBS envelope

In five-axis machining,tool orientation above a blade stream surface may lead to tool collision and a decrease in workpiece rigidity.Hence,collisionless tool orientation smoothing(TOS)becomes an important issue.On the basis of a constant scallop height tool path,the triangular facets in the faces,vertices format are constructed from cutter contact(CC)using the Voronoi incremental algorithm.The cutter location(CL)points candidate set is represented by an oblique elliptic cone whose vertex lies at CC using NURBS envelope.Whether the CL point is above its CC is judged by the dot product between the normal vector and the point on triangulation nearest to the CL point.The curvatures at CC are obtained by fitting a moving least square(MLS) quadratic patch to the local neighborhood of a vertex and calculating eigenvectors and eigenvalues of the Hessian matrix.Triangular surface elastic energy is employed as the weight in selection from the NURBS envelope.The collision is judged by NURBS surface intersection.TOS can then be expressed by selecting a CL point for each CC point and converted into a numerical control(NC)code automatically according to the postprocessor type of the machine center.The proposed method is verified by finishing of a cryogenic turboexpander impeller of air separation equipment.     

儿童民族认同的形成与发展

民族认同是儿童自我概念发展的重要内容,尤其对少数民族更为重要。国外研究发现,儿童在5岁后就能产生民族分类意识,并产生内群偏爱,在10岁会出现民族内隐态度和外显态度的分离现象;民族认同与民族刻板印象、偏见和歧视有重要联系;影响民族认同发展的因素有儿童认知发展水平、父母与同伴的种族（族群）态度、家庭社会化、群际接触等。国内研究者应该开展本土化的研究,发现我国儿童民族认同形成与发展的规律,对于促进族际互动、构建和谐的民族关系具有重要的理论和现实意义。
