This study focused on the development of a new classroom environment instrument for late-elementary students. The development of the survey of contemporary learning environments (SoCLE) followed a content analysis of three similar instruments on constructivist learning environments and the literature on characteristics of contemporary learning environments. Through a bottom-up development process, grounded in the epistemological foundations of constructivism, we note the difficulty in operationalizing student perceptions of contemporary learning environments and point to challenges in developing well-grounded construct validity. In a field study of 453 fifth–sixth grade students, the SoCLE was defined with three subscales: Reflective Processes (α?=?0.68), Ownership (α?=?0.65), and Multiple Perspectives (α?=?0.53). The Ownership and Multiple Perspectives subscales indicated relationships with overall academic achievement assessed by a nation-wide testing program, the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills. In a multiple linear regression model, ownership predicted the overall composite achievement score, as well as reading comprehension, social studies, and science subscores. Multiple perspectives predicted the language subscore. These findings highlight that characteristics of contemporary learning environments that are epistemologically based may support achievement in late-elementary students. 相似文献

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study is to explore the validity of the assessment tool. The purposive sampling method is applied in this research on a total of 551 preschool children between 4 and 6 years old. Their ages range from 46 to 81 months, with an average age of 63.9 months (SD?=?7.58). The assessment tool used in this research is the “Computerized Visual Motor Integration Assessment Tool Using Chinese Basic Strokes”. The multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to automatically determine children’s writing classification. The findings suggest that the assessment tool developed has good validity in terms of sensitivity, specificity and the accuracy. This tool is recommended for use in the diagnosis of Chinese visual motor integration issues for preschoolers, so that their potential writing difficulties may be detected early, and the goal of early intervention may be achieved. 相似文献

Pd77Cu6Si17 (PCS) tbin film metallic glasses (TFMGs) with high glass forming ability and hardness were selected as a hard coating for improving the surface hardness ofAZ31 magnesium alloy. Both microindentation and nanoindentation tests were conducted on specimens with various PCS film thicknesses from 30 to 2000 nm. The apparent hardness and the relative indenta- tion depth (fl) were integrated using a quantitative model. The interaction parameters involved and relative hardness values were extracted from iterative calculations. According to the results, surface hardness can be enhanced greatly by PCS TFMGs in the shallow region, followed by gradual decrease with increasing fl ratio. In addition, specimens with thinner coatings (e.g., 200 nm) showed greater substrate-film interaction and those with thick coatings (e.g., 2000 nm) became prone to film cracking. Consequential reasoning relevant to moral development has not been effectively practised in elementary schools in Taiwan. The present study designed a “To Do or Not To Do” website for students to explore moral dilemma situations and exercise consequence-based moral reasoning. Effective data from 160 fifth-grade students were collected for a confirmatory factor analysis and subjected to structural equation modeling (SEM). The results indicated that with a higher perceived level of parental monitoring; the participants had a higher level of pro-social tendency and a lower level of impulsivity. In addition, a lower level of impulsivity was significantly associated with a greater interest in blended learning to practice moral consequential reasoning. The results suggest that teachers could use the To Do or Not To Do website as part of a flipped classroom for students to practice moral consequential reasoning to maximize the moral development of less impulsive students. 相似文献

由于无线链路易受到外界干扰,导致数据传输的误码率较高,从而使得数据包成功传输概率降低。而误码所造成的丢包会使无线链路上的TCP传输自动降速,从而对正常的TCP数据传输造成较大影响。针对上述问题,本文在802.11协议的MAC层提出了一种新的校验机制,采用动态分块校验的方法对数据包进行验证,并采用新的方法来计算重传次数。实验表明,本校验机制可以有效提高数据包成功传输概率,进而改善了无线链路上的TCP传输性能,同时保证了多个数据流传输的公平性和数据的正确性。 相似文献
