Zusammenfassung Die im Rahmen der Modell-basierten Entwicklung eingebetteter Steuerungs- und Regelungssoftware eingesetzten optimierenden Codegeneratoren müssen einer intensiven Qualit?tssicherung unterzogen werden. Dem Einsatz von Testsuiten kommt dabei eine zentrale Rolle zu. Der Beitrag beschreibt den Aufbau einer modularen Testsuite für Codegeneratoren und schl?gt einen Testansatz vor, der eine systematische Prüfung der vom Codegenerator angewendeten Optimierungstechniken erm?glicht.

The optimising code generators employed as part of the model-based development of embedded control software must undergo intensive quality assurance. The use of test suites plays a central role in this process. This article describes the construction of a modular test suite for code generators and proposes a testing approach which makes a systematic test of the optimisations employed by the code generator possible.

His recommendations underlined the need for a close relationship between research and education, a factor vital to national survival in the aftermath of the Great War. This essay discusses the context of this report, and assesses its consequences for government policy towards agricultural research and education in France.     

What is Your Fitness Tracker Communicating?: Exploring Messages and Effects of Wearable Fitness Devices

Although studies have investigated how the technical features of wearable fitness trackers promote physical activity, we understand less about how communication surrounding such devices may contribute to their success. Addressing current opportunities for inquiry is important, as the popularity of fitness trackers and other wearable devices grows. Through interviews with 25 people wearing fitness devices, this study elucidates how and with whom people communicate fitness tracker messages and explains the effects of sociomaterial practice on interactions between wearable fitness device users. Our findings show the vital role of communication in sharing and encouraging physical activity.     

Coming home: The cost and promise of community-based education and development

Three theses are presented regarding the integration of education and development within communities. The need for modles of intergration for education and development is discussed. Also, this article discusses the question of power: who has it? why? and how to get it. Finally there is a definition of values and ideologies which are used in education and the implication of these for the development of the community.     

Measuring Journal Prestige in Criminal Justice and Criminology

Recent years have seen an increased reliance on the Thomson Reuters Journal Impact Factor (JIF) as a method of evaluating the prestige of academic journals. While the JIF has existed for many years, the increased use of technology to track publications and citations has resulted in other methods of measuring prestige, including Google Scholar’s H-index and Elsevier’s Cite Score. It is unclear, however, whether these “objective” methods of evaluation are correlated with the journals’ reputations among scholars. This paper compares objective and subjective evaluations of journals in criminal justice and criminology among a sample of ASC and ACJS members. Our findings indicate that subjective evaluations of experts are more strongly correlated with Google’s H-Index and Elsevier’s Cite Score than with impact factors. We conclude that for criminal justice and criminology scholars, Thomson Reuters’ JIF may not be the best measure of quality.

The analysis focuses on thefollowing issue: what are the consequences ofthe strengthening of central management on thebalance of powers between executive boards,faculties, and democratic elected assemblies?

This article examines central factors—or friction points—that technical communication instructors must understand and address to offer effective online educational experiences to globally distributed students.
