Effects of implementing flipped classroom elements and dynamic in‐class discussion on student performance

In a Food Processing–Unit Operations course, students learn the basic equipment that comprises unit operations and techniques commonly used in the food industry to prepare, process, and preserve a variety of food products. Due to the complexity of these operations, students frequently struggle with applying food processing principles to predict how unit operations influence the physical, biochemical, sensory, and nutritional properties of foods. This study is designed to evaluate how pre‐class readings and in‐class group activities improve the students’ learning in a Food Processing course. The survey after the exams shows that 48 and 60% of students agree that reading assignments and in‐class group activities help them understand the course material better, respectively. The mean value of exam scores shows that the students in the intervention section (Spring 2018) had significantly higher scores (88.4%) than that of the two previous sections without intervention (77.6%, Spring 2016 and 82.8%, Spring 2017) (P < .05). It is concluded that using a flipped class element like providing reading assignments and quizzes before the lecture can be an effective preparation technique for students as well as providing the instructors with critical insight into the students’ level of understanding before the lecture. This allows the instructor to focus time spent in class on areas in which students struggle the most.     

新教师的职业选择与阶层意识

教师职业选择的动机与所处阶层的感知对新教师的职业期待、职业适应、职业发展具有重要影响.通过对12名新教师的访谈研究发现,年轻一代在选择教师职业时仍受到家庭、性别等因素的影响,但对经济收入、生活方式、社会声望的理解呈现出受到个人经历、社会舆论的双重影响,从而构建和实践着一种作为叙事框架的阶层意识.在这个意义上,阶层意识不再是个体对社会结构的静态认知,而是个体将职业选择、职业价值、未来生活的想象合法化的方法.     

我国少数民族教师政策的回顾与分析

提升教师队伍质量既是民族教育面临的紧迫任务,也是少数民族教师政策的不懈追求.本研究通过对40份政策文件的分析发现,在1951-2021的七十年间,我国少数民族教师政策的发展经历了关注外援、关注学校、关注内培、关注质量和关注规划五个阶段.政策演进凸显多重特点,政策导向从追求"规模"转变为"质量与规模"并举、执行主体从个别部门领导转变为多部门联动协同、补充方式从依靠内地支援转变为增强本土培养、政策焦点从关注教师本身转变为重视外部保障.面向未来,应全面规划少数民族教师政策内容,加强对教师权益的关注;着力推进少数民族教师教育,提升教师思想政治素质与师德涵养;对接国家发展战略,帮扶民族地区和少数民族教师专业发展,为培养补充"下得去、留得住、教得好、有发展"的民族地区和少数民族教师提供政策保障.     

澳大利亚高校就业工作及其启示

澳大利亚在高校就业工作方面,从建立系统的职业教育培训体系、采取积极的就业推介工作到培训专业的职业指导教师等方面,为学生的就业提供了良好的保障。针对我国高校在大学生就业指导方面存在的一系列问题,借鉴澳大利亚的经验,认为需要从专业设置、就业指导、教育质量保障、师资培训方面去努力。

Extracurricular Activities and Chinese Children’s School Readiness: Who Benefits More?

Organized extracurricular activities (EAs) are prevalent among Chinese preschoolers, yet their role in children’s development is poorly understood. This study investigated the relations between EA participation and Chinese preschoolers’ school readiness (N = 343; M_age = 55.14 months) among a predominantly middle-class sample. EA breadth had positive linear relations with children’s early math and social skills, while attendance intensity demonstrated nonlinear associations, partially supporting the overscheduling hypothesis. EA breadth had stronger associations with early reading and math skills among lower socioeconomic status children, as well as greater benefits for math skills in children with less exposure to home learning activities, indicating a compensatory role of EAs. The findings highlight the interplay between EA and family contexts in relation to child development.     

走出学科危机:教育现代化进程中的大学学科建设

当代科学技术发展高度综合与交叉的新趋势对知识生产模式提出了新要求,大学传统上建立在知识分类体系基础上的学科制度在新知识生产模式下面临深刻危机,囿于学科壁垒的封闭式知识生产限制了大学的创新活力,知识生产过程中未能实现“学科逻辑”与“问题逻辑”相统一,学科存在的合法性与学科建设的有效性都受到质疑。通过历史与现实两个维度的审视,知识生产过程中对于专业化分工的需要没有发生根本性变化,对学者个体而言“专”是“跨”的前提,因此学科本身不会从大学里消亡。但未来的学科建设应当通过系统性变革,打破既有的学科壁垒,建立贯通知识生产中“营地”与“阵地”的矩阵式运行结构,促进学科的交叉、会聚与融合,使得学科在大学的科学研究、人才培养与社会服务等活动中更好地发挥作用。     

大股东对公司高层更换影响的实证分析

以我国上市公司为研究对象,分析了政府控制型公司、投资管理公司控制型公司、国有法人控制型公司和一般法人控制型公司在高级管理人员更换(简称高层更换)对业绩敏感性上的差异。所选样本和样本区间的实证结果表明,政府控制型企业高层更换对绩效的敏感性显著低于其他类型的公司,其余几类公司之间不存在显著差异,因而提高企业效率应着眼于引入有“市场导向”的直接监控主体。     

基层公职人员行政伦理建设的路径探析

基层公职人员作为我国公共服务最基础的细胞,虽然微小,但是却输送着血液,缺一不可。这一群体是政府最基础公职的具体执行者,社会公共事务的具体实施者,其伦理水平直接影响着政府的形象,影响着公民对政府的认同感,也影响着政府政务执行的情况。因此加强其行政伦理方面的研究,不仅是对习近平总书记提出的建设高素质基层党组织带头队伍的人才梯队理念的深入贯彻和具体实施,更是在现阶段提高基层公职人员行政执政能力的道德要求。本文主要调研Y县在基层公职人员行政伦理建设中存在的问题及其原因分析,并初步提出对策和建议。
