A mathematical model relating power output of rower to stroke rate on an ergometer (the Concept II Indoor Rower TM, Model
C) is studied. The model is used to analyse the ergometer performance of a particular rower. It is determined that he can
be more efficient (i.e. decrease power output while maintaining fixed velocity) by decreasing stroke rate, but at the expense
of increasing force during the drive. It is also shown that he can be more efficient by increasing the drag factor (using
higher vent setting) without increasing force. Dependence of power output on rowing style (the shape of the force curve) is
also examined. It is shown that variation of force during the drive has little effect on efficiency, but efficiency is reduced
by asymmetry of the force curve that favours the legs. 相似文献

Reflexivity is a learning process that, through questioning and critically monitoring objectives and methods in use, promotes a change of habits and routines and, in so doing, fosters organizational performance and innovativeness. This paper looks at the contribution of team reflexivity to enhancing openness to innovation, and the mediating role of individual and team involvement. Specifically we tested whether affective commitment (Study 1, n=156) and a team climate of support for innovation (Study 2, n=152) facilitate reflexivity processes in promoting organizational openness to innovation. Overall, results confirmed that reflexivity enhances innovativeness, and this relationship is mediated by a high degree of involvement that increases the motivation of teammates and their engagement in innovation processes. 相似文献

Conclusion In this paper we briefly described the current status of research in the field of digital libraries interoperability, mainly
with respect to federated data processing such as permitted within the Open Archive Initiative framework. We then presented
the CERN Document Server Software suite that is a free software package main-tained by CERN providing an online digital library
solution for mid- to large-sized document repositories. The set of CDSware modules was described and the differ-ences with
other existing tools briefly mentioned. Finally we have mentioned a typical usage statistics illustrating the scope of grey
literature and networked con-ditions of the CERN Document Server.
We pointed out that the current trend in grey literature management goes toward institutional repositories build upon the
distributed and federated model. Further research is going on within the CDS collaboration in this area, focused particularly
on (i) semantic interoperability using ontologies in distributed and federated data processing and (ii) ranking technologies
when searching grey literature in OAI compliant repositories. 相似文献

We propose an approach to enhancing knowledge sharing and connectedness in distributed teams. Termed ‘Narrating Your Work’ (NYW), the approach involves members of distributed team using a microblogging tool to post regular updates about their current work, accomplishments, and issues. The NYW approach was evaluated within a geographically and temporally distributed team at Shell International for a period of one month, using a mixed-method research design. Methodology comprised of a quantitative survey, followed by semi-structured interviews and analysis of microblogging updates posted during the month in which the approach was being trialled. The evaluation results suggest that NYW was viewed as a valid and practical approach to enhancing knowledge sharing and connectedness. A range of barriers and enablers that could impact the future application and embedding of the approach are identified and recommendations for implementation are outlined. 相似文献
