This article describes a multiyear research project involving practicing K–2 teachers and the incorporation of Moodle as a qualitative data portal. Utilizing a case study of two participants, findings from the Moodle-facilitated data point known as “e-forum” are used to examine whether the community-building goal of the research was realized, and to describe the nature of each teacher's orientation toward cultural relevance, a central theme of the study. 相似文献

This article reviews literature on educational gerontology, adult education, and training and identifies factors that may encourage or discourage older workers from participation in training. Previous research has emphasized models based on either motivation or deterrent factors. This article offers a unique exploratory model combining five motivational and two deterrent factors that hold the potential for predicting older worker's participation in training. Research based on the proposed model can help explain older learner's participation in work-related training and, thereby, provide practitioners with clues to enhance training programs for older workers. 相似文献

The challenges facing student athletes are substantial. The student athlete population faces developmental tasks similar to their nonathlete peers, as well as confronting unique issues. Student athletes' developmental needs are considered within the framework of the psychosocial developmental model proposed by Chickering (1969; Chickering & Reisser, 1993) with special attention to the additional challenges that may make the struggle to resolve the “normal” developmental tasks more difficult.
