郑和下西洋之推动力

明成祖朱棣派郑和下西洋主要目的不是寻找建文帝。也非炫耀国威。前期主要目的是通过“金钱”和“大棒”并用的政策来获得海外各国的“外交承认”。后期是郑和及其使团人员为了追逐经济利益主动要求下西洋。朱棣是前期下西洋的推动力。后期这一主要推动力就变为郑和了。     

国债筹资对民间投资和消费的经济效应实证分析

近几年，我国政府增发大量的国债，这为政府投资筹措了大量的建设资金，那么发行国债是否会降低民间部门的投资需求和消费需求？文章根据已研究的李嘉图等价定理在我国现阶段不成立的结论，从国债作为民间部门可支配收入角度出发，分析改革开放以来国债对民间部门总需求的影响，得出国债存量和流量会在较小程度上有利于增加民间部门消费，但是国债流量对民间部门投资存在抑制效应的结论。

从稀土溶液中,用氨水和碱金属氢氧化物提取稀土氢氧化物的方法在国内外一些文献报导上已屡见不鲜。但用石灰水作沉淀剂来提取稀土氢氧化物的方法尚未见报导。

简论庐隐、凌叔华对女性自我追求的反思与怀疑

中国现代女作家对作为“人”的意识的追求表现为对女性自我实现的追求。而庐隐、凌叔华对自己、对现实世界的认识,使得她们对女性自我实现的可能性产生了怀疑。庐隐揭示了处于不同境况下的女性生存现实,反映出在没有变化的社会与家庭体制里女性自我实现的艰难;凌叔华则通过对女性自身弱点的揭露,表现了女性自我实现的艰难。她们通过自己的写作,表示了这样一种观点:要改变女性作为“第二性”的状态,就必须改造社会文化形态,而这必须首先有赖于女性自身的认识与觉悟。这正是她们在探索建立女性自我价值的过程中所达到的深刻体认。     

我国农村人力资源现状与开发途径研究

我国农村劳动力数量庞大但受教育程度低,身体素质差且存在着心理贫困文化、公民意识薄弱、权利缺失和差别歧视等问题。从农村人力资本、二元经济结构、农村劳动力产权等角度进行分析,有助于完善农村教育体制、消除不合理的歧视制度,敦促政府在农村人力资源开发中发挥积极作用,从而提高农村人口的整体素质,变人口压力为人力资源优势。     

现代中国旅行社的肇端——20世纪二三十年代中国旅行社的发展与经营特点

中国的旅行社出现较晚,直至20世纪20年代,在开放的国际环境中才在上海诞生了中国第一家旅行社——中国旅行社,由于当时其业务开展主要记载于《旅行杂志》中,而其他资料中少见,故本文试图从《旅行杂志》刊登的文章来看二三十年代中国旅行社的旅游产品推出、代办的其他业务,以及中国旅行社自身的发展。     

Decolonising dominant knowledge constructions in the education of immigrant youth in Canada

ABSTRACT

This paper examines the dominant knowledge construction in Canadian public schools. Using the grounded theory approach, thirty-six Chinese Canadian youths and young adults were interviewed in Alberta. Drawing on critical, anticolonial and Bourdieusian perspectives, I argue that some teachers’ racialised habitus and biased knowledge constructions devalued the indigenous knowledges that immigrant youth bring to the classroom. Moreover, they reproduced anti-immigrant discourses and reinforced racial hierarchies in Canadian society. As a consequence, they negatively affect the identity construction of immigrant descendants and undermine their attempts to negotiate a sense of belonging in Canada. I argue that decolonising dominant knowledge constructions requires challenging teachers’ racialised habitus in teaching and their interactions with immigrant students.

PGC-1α coordinates with Bcl-2 to control the cell cycle in U251 cells through reducing ROS

B-cell lymphoma 2 (Bcl-2) has a dual function, acting as both an oncogene and an anti-tumor gene. It is well known that Bcl-2 exerts its tumor promoting function through the mitochondrial pathway. However, the mechanism by which it suppresses tumor formation is not well understood. We have previously shown that Bcl-2 inhibits cell cycle progression from the G₀/G₁ to the S phase after serum starvation, and that quiescent Bcl-2 expressing cells maintain a significantly lower level of mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (ROS) than control cells. Based on the fact that ROS mediate cell cycle progression and are controlled by peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ co-activator 1α (PGC-1α), a key molecule induced by prolonged starvation and involved in mitochondrial metabolism, we hypothesized that PGC-1α might be related to the cell cycle function of Bcl-2. In this paper, we show that PGC-1α is upregulated by Bcl-2 overexpression and downregulated following Bcl-2 knockdown or downregulation after serum starvation. However, Bcl-2 is negatively regulated by PGC-1α expression. Further, co-immunoprecipitation (co-IP) experiments showed that PGC-1α protein is co-precipitated with Bcl-2 at the G₀/G₁ phase. Taken together, our results suggest that PGC-1α interacts with Bcl-2 after serum depletion, and that Bcl-2 might recruit PGC-1α to reduce ROS, which in turn delays cell cycle progression in coordination with Bcl-2.
