浅谈校园网与档案馆网络化建设的构想

校园网的建设，给高校档案馆网络化建设带来了难得的机遇．但网络缺乏统一的协调机构。标准化水平较低。馆员整体素质低，无法满足用户的多种需求，给档案网络化建设和资源共享造成隐患。通过对这些问题的分析，提出高校档案网络化建设的构想．

The impact of case characteristics on child abuse reporting decisions.

Drawing distinctions on the basis of at least some case characteristics in making reporting decisions makes considerable sense. Using data from a national survey of mandated reporters that included vignettes in which case and personal characteristics were systematically varied, this paper examines the impact of selected characteristics while controlling for others. The data reveal that respondents noticed and responded to case characteristics. Abuse-relevant judgments and reporting intentions varied, often substantially, as a function of case characteristics. Three case characteristics--previous abuse, severity of abuse, and recantation--were powerful predictors of vignette outcomes. A history of previous abuse led to judgments of greater seriousness, a more salutary impact of a report, and greater likelihood of reporting. More severe abuse was more likely to be labelled as abuse, and was more likely to be reported. When the alleged victim retracted her accusation upon questioning by an authority figure, respondents were significantly less likely to intend a report. Child age, perpetrator intent and family socioeconomic status also influenced abuse-relevant judgments and reporting intentions. Respondents were more likely to intend a report when younger children, lazy or angry perpetrators and children from poorer families were portrayed.

How has Item Response Theory helped solve problems in the development and use of computer-adaptive tests? Do we need to balance item content with computer-adaptive tests? Could we use IRT to evaluate unusual responses to computer-delivered tests?     

Henry Holt a-spinning in his grave: Literary agenting yesterday and today

The role of the literary agent and the reception granted agents by publishers have changed markedly over the course of the twentieth century. Henry Holt’s views of agents, written in the first decade of the century, help define the status and activities of agents at that time. These are compared with the role of agents today, using archival sources, the book trade literature, and interviews. Thomas L. Bonn, review editor of this journal, is a librarian, Library at State University College at Cortland. He is the author ofUnder Cover: An Illustrated History of American Mass Market Paperbacks andHeavy Traffic and High Culture: The New American Library as Literary Gatekeeper. He is working on a study of American literary agents.     

骨骼肌基因转移系统的建立

以EGFP为标记基因，利用重新构建的pAV-EGFP质粒，采用直接注射方法，进行了离体和在体基因转移研究。实验结果显示，经脂质体包裹后，质粒可以有效地进行细胞转移；DNA表达载体肌肉直接注射后，利用共聚焦显微镜可以在注射点周围的肌细胞观察到绿色荧光蛋白；而在对侧肢PCR和共聚焦显微镜的结果均为阴性。实验结果表明，肌肉直接注射DNA可以在肌肉得到表达，将会为治疗肌肉损伤带来新的方法。     

基于改进编码的多聚脯氨酸二型结构预测

目前使用机器学习方法对稀有的PPII二级结构进行预测工作还比较少见.本文在分析数据集的特征基础之上,采用加强局部信息的改进编码方法,并使用生物信息学中常用的BP神经网络来预测PPII二级结构.通过对不同输入窗口长度与不同隐层节点数的神经网络进行训练和测试,得出在输入窗口长度为5个氨基酸残基和隐结点数为8时PPII螺旋结构能够被很好地预测出来,此时的预测敏感度为82.5%.
