Incorporating Social Justice in Reference Education

Students of reference service can better prepare for careers in serving today’s communities by not only being sensitive to the needs of all members of their communities but also serving as advocates for services for those who are disenfranchised. This column addresses the place of incorporating the philosophy and application of social justice into the education of information specialists who are preparing for careers as reference librarians.     

Genotype-phenotype correlations in Chinese patients with TGFBI gene-linked corneal dystrophy

In this paper, we report the clinical and molecular features of the distinct TGFBI (human transforming growth factor β-induced, OMIM No. 601692) gene-linked corneal dystrophy. Altogether, five pedigrees and ten unrelated individuals diagnosed as corneal dystrophy were recruited. Peripheral venous DNA was extracted, and then amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and scanned for mutation by single-stranded conformation polymorphism (SSCP). Direct DNA sequencing was used to analyze the mutations of the TGFBI gene. In our study, thirty patients from five pedigrees and ten sporadic patients were diagnosed as four TGFBI gene-linked corneal dystrophies of granular corneal dystrophy type I (GGCD I), Avellino corneal dystrophy (ACD), lattice corneal dystrophy type I (LCD I), and lattice corneal dystrophy type IIIA (LCD IIIA), and in total, seven disease-causing mutations, namely R555W, A546D, A546T, and T538P mutations in exon 12, R124H and R124C mutations in exon 4, and P501T mutation in exon 11, were identified, while four polymorphisms of V327V, L472L, F540F, and 1665-1666insC were screened in exons 8,11, and 12. The study ascertained the tight genotype-phenotype relationship and confirmed the clinical and genetic features of four TGFBI gene-linked corneal dystrophies.     

Implications of membrane fouling toward the removal of the pharmaceutical sulfamethoxazole by nanofiltration processes

The influence of membrane fouling on the retention of the trace organic contaminant sulfamethoxazole by a nanofiltration (NF) process was investigated. Organic fouling caused a severe flux decline possibly due to pore blocking and adsorption directly after the commencement of the fouling layer development. Such membrane-foulant interactions were absent for colloidal fouling, which resulted in a more gradual flux decline. Membrane charge played a significant role in the separation process of inorganic salts, where the retention was the highest in a caustic environment (high pH) due to more swollen membrane material caused by the higher negative charge on the membrane. Organic fouling and a combination of colloidal and organic fouling led to a significant increase in the membrane negative charge. The influence of membrane fouling on solute retention was dependent on the fouling behaviour and the physicochemical properties of the model foulants, where the model foulants probably contributed to an increase in the retention of charged solutes due to enhanced electrostatic interactions. Organic fouling caused an increase in the retention of inorganic salts and sulfamethoxazole due to pore blocking. In contrast, colloidal fouling caused a decrease in the retention of inorganic salts due to cake-enhanced concentration polarisation. However, the presence of a colloidal fouling layer did not reduce the retention of sulfamethoxazole. A mixture of colloidal and organic matter improved the retention of inorganic salts. A similar conclusion can be inferred for sulfamethoxazole at pH 4 when the compound exists in a neutral form.

烤烟红花大金元巨型变异株系的发现、选育及可用性研究

2006年9月在昆明市安宁禄脿乡种植的红花大金元品种田间发现了一棵巨型变异株,经培育次年获得首批种子,2008~2010年在昆明烟区多点多年开展了系统选育、性状考察、区域试验、配套生产技术及烘烤特性探索、抗病性鉴定、生产示范和种子繁殖技术等一系列试验研究.经过多年系统选育,该新品系性状独特优异、适应性较广、农艺性状可调控阈值大、产量产值高、烟叶品质良好、可用性强,多项指标已近似或超过其亲本红花大金元,被命名为YK01.根据其研究利用现状,重点探讨了品种特征特性、烟叶质量、栽培烘烤技术、植保技术和种子繁殖技术等5个方面,为进一步开发利用提供科学依据与参考.     

明洪武时期祭孔仪制考论

洪武时期,朱元璋崇尚文治,推明儒术,祭孔之风渐兴,相关仪制初步形成。在祭孔时间和规模上,确立了每年二、八月遣官祭孔的规定。在祭孔仪式上,承宋元旧制,在乐章、器物、祭祀程序等方面,亦逐步形成了更为严密、庄重的规定。凡此,洪武祭孔之制已较为系统、完备,成为明代祭孔的基本规范。     

晏阳初:我国电化教育早期的践行者

晏阳初是著名的平民教育家。在20世纪前半叶,为中国的平民教育做出了突出的贡献。晏阳初把幻灯、广播、电影等当时最先进的电化教育手段应用于平民教育运动,在华工识字教育、平民识字教育、军队识字教育,尤其是定县的乡村建设实验中,取得了巨大的成功,大大提高了社会教育的效果和效率。晏阳初对电化教育的践行和农村改革的经验,对当前社会主义新农村的建设仍然有一定的借鉴作用。     

创业团队异质性与创新：战略共识和凝聚力的调节

本研究通过问卷调研方法探索创业团队异质性对创新绩效影响的边界条件。基于长三角地区97家创业企业的调研数据,分析结果表明：（1）战略共识正向调节团队异质性对创新绩效的影响;（2）团队凝聚力正向调节团队异质性对创新绩效的影响;（3）战略共识与团队凝聚力对团队异质性和创新绩效的关系有联合调节作用,当战略共识与团队凝聚力都高时,团队异质性对创新绩效的积极作用增强。本研究对创业团队异质性影响创新绩效的边界条件进行探讨,对相关理论做出补充,同时也为创业团队提高创新绩效提供对策和建议。     

基于知识供应链的图书馆知识服务策略研究

文章从知识供应链与知识服务的关系出发,阐述了图书馆知识服务中引入知识供应链理论的优势.通过借鉴国外基于知识供应链的知识服务策略,着重探讨了对我国图书馆知识服务的若干启示.     

我国数字图书馆研究十年发展回顾

采用文献计量分析方法,抽样选取了1999-2009年国内外数字图书馆研究领域的1.65万篇文献,从机构发文量、平均被引率及关键词频率等角度对其进行统计、汇总、分析和研究,总结出最近十年数字图书馆领域的研究内容及其热点和研究机构概况,并对相关结果进行了详细评析,以期了解和掌握我国数字图书馆研究现状,为进一步的发展提供参考。
