加强保护,确保旅游资源可持续利用

当前,有限的资源面临着旅游市场迅速扩张的巨大压力。而盲目粗放式开发更加重了资源供需失衡;资源的保护与开发就成为一对难解的矛盾。本文拟从旅游资源的内容、性质出发,通过对其在开发中所受破坏的分析,探讨通过加强环境保护等途径,确保旅游资源的可持续利用     

计算机在世界教育中的应用现状：IEA19国计算机应用于教育调查结果

本文所介绍的是由国际教育成就评价协会(英文缩写为IEA)组织研究的国际合作项目——“计算机在教育中的应用研究”——第一阶段的调查结果。该项目始于1987年,按设计,研究过程分为两个阶段:1987—1990年底和1991—1994年。参加合作研究的国家有美,加、德、日、新等二十几个国家和地区,我国于1988年底参加了该项目研     

科技新闻语言平民化的环境架构

本文从多个角度分析探讨了中国科技新闻语言平民化进程缓慢的原由与后果,认为语言平民化的成功达成必须在科技新闻的故事化、社会化、文学化、模糊法等大环境下才能得以实现.在此基础上,本研究提出了科技新闻语言平民化的多向路径.     

Importance of ticks and their chemical and immunological control in livestock

The medical and economic importance of ticks has long been recognized due to their ability to transmit diseases to humans and animals. Ticks cause great economic losses to livestock, and adversely affect livestock hosts in several ways. Loss of blood is a direct effect of ticks acting as potential vector for haemo-protozoa and helminth parasites. Blood sucking by large numbers of ticks causes reduction in live weight and anemia among domestic animals, while their bites also reduce the quality of hides. However, major losses caused by ticks are due to their ability to transmit protozoan, rickettsial and viral diseases of livestock, which are of great economic importance world-wide. There are quite a few methods for controlling ticks, but every method has certain shortcomings. The present review is focused on ticks importance and their control.     

Anticancer effects of Chinese herbal medicine, science or myth？

Currently there is considerable interest among oncologists to find anticancer drugs in Chinese herbal medicine （CHM）. In the past, clinical data showed that some herbs possessed anticancer properties, but western scientists have doubted the scientific validity of CHM due to the lack of scientific evidence from their perspective. Recently there have been encouraging results, from a western perspective, in the cancer research field regarding the anticancer effects of CHM. Experiments showed that CHM played its anticancer role by inducing apoptosis and differentiation, enhancing the immune system, inhibiting angiogenesis, reversing multidrug resistance （MDR）, etc. Clinical trials demonstrated that CHM could improve survival, increase tumor response, improve quality of life, or reduce chemotherapy toxicity, although much remained to be determined regarding the objective effects of CHM in human in the context of clinical trials. Interestingly, both laboratory experiments and clinical trials have demonstrated that when combined with chemotherapy, CHM could raise the efficacy level and lower toxic reactions. These facts raised the feasibility of the combination of herbal medicines and chemotherapy, although much remained to be investigated in this area.
