This study tested a mediation model between depression and neuroticism on 209 college students. Previous research suggests that students who appraise their lives as having no value or worth, which is known as floccinaucinihilipilification (flocci), may be prone to depressive symptoms because of a neurotic disposition. Results found flocci domains targeted at the self and relationships partially mediated the neuroticism–depression relation. Implications and recommendations for professionals are discussed. 相似文献

Scientific communication in the field of educational technology was examined by analyzing references from and citations to
articles published in Educational Technology Research and Development (ETR&D) for the period 1990–2004 with particular emphasis on other journals found in the citation record. Data were collected on
the 369 core articles found in the 60 issues published during that time period, their reference lists (containing over 14,805
individual items), and citations of those articles in other journals (1,896 entries). The top cited and citing journals during
that time period are listed. Nine symbiotic journals (i.e. those that are most cited by ETR&D and frequently cite it) were identified: Contemporary Educational Psychology, Educational Psychologist, Instructional Science, Journal of Computer-Based Instruction (no longer published), Journal of Educational Computing Research, Journal of Educational Psychology, Journal of Educational Research, Journal of Research in Science Teaching, and the Review of Educational Research. The results provide an in-depth, quantitative view of informal connections within the field via the citation record. Implications
for further research and the potential influence of new technologies on scientific communication are also discussed. 相似文献

This qualitative case study was an examination of a team-based faculty/mentor-led International Doctoral Student Support Group
(IDSSG) designed specifically around issues in preparing and mentoring international doctoral students for careers in academia.
Twelve participants were selected to participate in a support/focus group that met twice a month for an academic year to attend
workshops and discuss their lives as doctoral students. The data set was comprised of two pre- and post-surveys and two in-depth
pre- and post-interviews. Findings in the themes of international doctoral students’ graduate school experiences and the impact
of the faculty-led support group are presented and discussed.

A computer-aided method for simplification and identification of linear discrete systems via step-response matching is presented. Golub's algorithm for solving least-squares problem is used to find the optimum coefficients of the reduced model. The advantages of this method are (1) for model reduction, both the time response and frequency response within the bandwidth region of the reduced model are very close to those of the original system; and (2) for system identification, the identified model is very close to the original system. In the illustrative examples considered in this paper the results of the proposed method appear to be better than those of other methods in the current literature. 相似文献

首先,分析中国大陆地区十大图书馆学和情报学期刊2002年7月至2005年6月计三年刊载文年6月计三年刊载文章主题,以了解中国大陆地区使用者和信息行为的研究现状。研究发现,“图书馆自动化、网络化”是当前中国大陆图书馆学、情报学领域的重点研究方向,并已累积丰硕成果;“中国图书馆事业”、“图书馆工作者”等主题也是学者关注的重点;而关于信息行为或使用者的研究相对缺乏。其次,将上述分析结果与台湾类似研究进行比较,并对中国大陆忽视使用者研究的现状提出分析。最后,作者希望藉由本文之分析,发掘中国信息和知识传播研究的长短处,并针对未来研究方向提出建议。 相似文献

Econometric studies suggest that student achievement may be improved if high-performing teachers are substituted for low-performing teachers. Drawing upon a recent study linking teacher performance on licensure exams with gains in student achievement, an analysis was conducted to determine the cost-effectiveness of requiring teacher applicants to meet a minimum 1000 SAT test score requirement, while raising teacher salaries by 45 percent in order to maintain an adequate pool of candidates. Results indicate that the cost-effectiveness of this approach to raising teacher quality is substantially lower than the cost-effectiveness of a competing approach for raising student achievement, involving the implementation of systems that provide formative assessment feedback to students and teachers regarding student performance in math and reading. The implementation of formative assessment instead of less cost-effective approaches would help to achieve the important goal of raising math and reading achievement while using fewer resources. The savings in resources may then be used to achieve other important educational goals—those that are not well-addressed through formative assessment. 相似文献
