This is the third of three studies using complementary designs to investigate the effects of teacher attire on student perceptions of instructors and instruction in contemporary college classrooms. In line with Studies One and Two, modest effects of attire on perceptions of extroversion and competence were found; however, previous conclusions that instructor attire has little meaningful, predictable effect on ratings of attributes related to either approachability or credibility were reinforced. Student judgements of such attributes were influenced far more by teacher use of immediacy behaviors than by attire. In particular, positive effects resulting from teachers’ choice of formal professional attire were not supported. This is the final study in a three‐part series designed to investigate the implications of instructor attire in the contemporary college classroom. Natural acceleration happens through an internal fire that burns to learn and may transcend school boundaries. Based on their passionate interests and connections with a domain, children who hunger for domain understandings outside school curricula require different types of acceleration, motivated by these interests. The lifeworks, domains, and interests of two eminent Brazilian brothers, Walter and Roberto Burle Marx, represent different creative trajectories. Examining childhood experiences that helped them accomplish their endeavors finds major differences in their early education. Both boys reported that their real education was through pursuit of their passions wherein they hungered for expertise, not through school. In the face of ubiquitous information communication technology, the presence of blogs, personal websites, and public message
boards give the illusion of uncensored criticism and discussion of the ethical implications of business activities. However,
little attention has been paid to the limitations on free speech posed by the control of access to the Internet by private
entities, enabling them to censor content that is deemed critical of corporate or public policy. The premise of this research
is that transparency alone will not achieve the desired results if ICT is used in a one way system, controlled by the provider
of information. Stakeholders must have an avenue using the same technology to respond to and interact with the information.
We propose a model that imposes on corporations a public trust, requiring these gatekeepers of communication technology to
