Social Justice: A National Imperative for Counselor Education and Supervision

In this introduction to the special issue of the Counselor Education and Supervision journal, the guest editors provide a brief history of the social justice movement within the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision and discuss the importance of addressing social justice issues in counselor education and supervision. The authors challenge all counselors to make social justice an integral part of their work.     

人类教育发展史上的奇迹——改革开放30年中国推进全民教育的奋进历程

改革开放以来,中国政府和人民以最大的努力推进全民教育,把实现基本普及九年义务教育和基本扫除青壮年文盲的目标作为教育工作的重中之重。全民教育经历了普及义务教育、大规模扫盲行动、实施全民教育的国家意志的历程。中国特色全民教育发展之路的实践探索,推行了一系列发展全民教育的重大举措,使得基础教育办学条件有了较大改善,全民教育取得重大成就并实现新突破,推进了义务教育的均衡发展。中国如期实现了两基目标,创造了人类教育发展史上的奇迹。     

我国教育科研成果现状及其影响力分析

对2006—2008年度科研课题、学术论文以及学术著作的分析表明,我国教育科研成果数量持续增长、质量不断提高、成果生产组织形态多元化、成果产品类型多样化,在服务决策、指导实践、学科发展、引领社会等方面发挥了重要作用,社会影响日益显著。今后,需要以科学发展观为指导,增强问题意识,加强实证研究,提升成果质量,加快成果转化,提高国际影响力,促进我国教育科学迈上新的台阶。     

A conversation about pedagogical responses to increased diversity in university classrooms

This paper presents a dialogue between an academic economist and an educational developer. It asks whether it is possible to teach in a way that works well for all students. The economist contends that teaching entails making a choice as to which students should benefit most—the more academically capable or the lower‐achieving students. He sees this as a question of social choice. The educational developer suggests that teaching can be organized such that all students can benefit optimally. The dialogue seeks to resolve this difference. It draws on the work of John Biggs, using his diagrammatic representation of the relation between student orientation, teaching method and level of engagement. Biggs debriefs the dialogue. He rejects the focus on particular students andargues rather that teaching should incorporate optimal degrees of freedom in learning activities and assessment, thus enabling levels of engagement for all students to be maximized.

黄山是徽州文化构成的自然风光和人文景观结合的板块,在新兴显学——徽学研究中的地位非常重要。而关于黄山名称的由来,历来沿用“黄帝炼丹”说。本文从许承尧设疑发端,例举《旧唐书》、唐诗和道家学说,质疑传统说法,提出黄山名称是源于《易·坤卦》:“天玄而地黄。”     

论有意义的教育研究

教育研究不是一种学院化的职业,本质上不是为了一种知识体系而完成、实现自己。有意义的教育研究是指以教育的方式来研究教育。为此,应该意识到教育研究本身所蕴涵的实践本性,教育研究本质上是一种实践性的社会活动,教育的生活世界是教育研究的家,是教育研究的生命所在,应该在教育研究中达成基于这一实践本性基础之上的实践理性。     

Influence of Mindfulness,Emotion Regulation,and Perceived Social Support on Burnout

We used canonical correlation analysis to examine the predictive nature of three facets of wellness (mindfulness, emotion regulation, and perceived social support) on burnout in counselors-in-training (N = 136). The cognitive reappraisal construct made a significant contribution to the wellness predictor variate. Implications for counselor training programs are discussed.     

中国教育学者何以更好地安身立命

中国教育学者何以更好地安身立命,这个问题是在复杂的教育实践,教育决策的民主化、科学化,开展有中国特色、中国品格和中国气派的教育研究,“教育学立场”与跨学科研究的张力等方面的压力下产生的。要解决之,至少有两条路径:一是改造教育理论,以便更好地为教育实践者把握;二是创新教育理论,做好“接着说”、“在中国教育中”、“从教育学立场出发”、“创新思维方式”等方面的工作。     

Preface

The International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM) held the International Symposium on Robotics and Mechatronics (ISRM 2009) as the first in a series of conference events promoting robotics and mechantronics in the Asian IFToMM community. The first event was held in Hanoi University of Technology on Sept.
