The present study reports the online business database holdings of the top academic institutions in the United States, which databases are paid for by which entities on campus, and some of the most common and most desired business databases. An invitation to participate in an online survey was sent to 91 top institutions of which 39 institutions participated. The results show a wide variety of information resources are considered core business resources in contemporary business librarianship and imply an increasing importance of cost sharing in providing the databases to support research and efforts to commercialize research.  相似文献

Primary and secondary school choice among public and religious alternatives   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
In this paper we develop a conceptual framework for analyzing school choice decisions, evaluate past empirical research, and estimate an individual level model of choice using a unique data set. Previous empirical work modeling households' decisions to send their children to public or private schools frequently employed incomplete or aggregate data that precluded firm policy conclusions. The data employed here merges 1980 individual level census data with information about schools in New York. The results suggest that parents are sensitive to the relative quality of school offerings, the tuition of religious schools, characteristics of other students in each alternative, and socioeconomic characteristics of the family. The empirical findings contribute to our understanding of the existing school choice structure and provide insights concerning new school choice proposals.  相似文献

The increasing ease and ubiquity of video has resulted in a proliferation of video annotation tools used and designed for improving education. While similar, each tool has its relative strengths and weaknesses. Choosing the “right” tool can have an impact on the experience of teachers and the effectiveness of video as a means for improving teaching and learning. In this article, we present ten guiding questions for making an informed choice about which video annotation tool will best suit each individual situation.  相似文献
