新建本科院校图书馆服务于应用型人才的策略——以运城学院图书馆实践为例

地方新建本科院校如何满足地方经济建设和社会发展的需求,培养出综合素质高、创新能力强的应用型人才,已成为一个重大科研课题.运城学院图书馆从自身实际出发,针对本院的人才培养目标,准确定位图书馆服务目标,深入挖掘资源和地域优势,有效拓宽服务对象和范围,研发服务资源,加强与地方交流互动,为培养具有实践能力和创新能力的应用型人才做了有益的探索.     

Classification of individual articles from all of science by research level

A system of four research levels, designed to classify scientific journals from most applied to most basic, was introduced by Francis Narin and colleagues in the 1970s. Research levels have been used since that time to characterize research at institutional and departmental levels. Currently, less than half of all articles published are in journals that been classified by research level. There is thus a need for the notion of research level to be extended in a way that all articles can be so classified. This article reports on a new model – trained from title and abstract words and cited references – that classifies individual articles by research level. The model covers all of science, and has been used to classify over 25 million articles from Scopus by research level. The final model and set of classified articles are further characterized.     

Using Performance to Learn How to Balance Reporting with Compassion

In this study we examine performance as an approach to train journalists in order to alleviate negative public perceptions of media victimization and to identify behaviors more conducive to effective, but compassionate reporting. After an overview of literature related to public perceptions of media victimization and the potential of applied performance, we describe a collaborative partnership between an advanced journalism seminar exploring media victimization and an introductory performance studies course. We conclude by sharing implications and suggestions for using performance to train journalists covering tragic events.     

The Value of Communication Science

In communication science, the distinction between applied and basic research is often accompanied by a discussion of the relative value of each. However, the idea that there is a value distinction to be made between applied and basic research is fundamentally inconsistent with scientific epistemology. Rather than different modes of inquiry with different relative value, communication science is a whole, constituted by applied and basic researchers who focus on different goals of science: to explain, to predict, and to control. An example is provided of a highly successful communication intervention created via the cooperation between applied and basic scholars.     

基于主题设计的“反转”教学模式实践探索

反转教学是近年来运用信息技术改革课堂教学模式、促进学习者积极学习的一种教学尝试。通过对反转教学概念、特征和教学模式的梳理,从学科知识体系的主题划分、教学环境和资源建设、教学活动设计、师生交互行为实现四个方面详细阐述了开展基于主题教学设计的反转教学的实践过程,最后,对反转教学实践中学科的适应性,对教师和学习者提出的挑战和这一新兴教学模式的局限性进行了总结。     

服务性学习理念对独立学院教学的启示——以应用心理学专业为例

作为我国高等教育的一种新型办学模式,独立学院的教学存在着课程设置固化,＂应用＂缺位,教学方式单一、潜在资源闲置,教学无视学生特点、培养措施乏力的困境,而服务性学习不仅德育和智育培养目标兼容,是理论和实践有机融合的教学模式,能为独立学院的学生搭建适宜的平台,对独立学院的教学改善具有独到的作用。为此,以应用心理学为例,详细阐述服务性学习的理念对独立学院教学的启示。
