Effects of social psychological phenomena on school psychologists’ ethical decision-making: a preliminary empirical analysis

This preliminary, exploratory study examines the impact of select social psychological phenomena on school-based ethical decision-making of school psychologists. Responses to vignettes and hypothetical statements reflecting several social psychological phenomena were collected from 106 practicing school psychologists. Participants were asked to respond by indicating the degree to which their actions in such a scenario would be influenced by the particular phenomenon being represented. Results indicate that some of these social psychological influences are present in the daily work of the school psychologist.     

Three-dimensional bursting phenomena in meander channel

Experiments were conducted in a U-shaped open-channel flume with the intention of investigating the bursting phenomena in the meander channel. The experimental results of the secondary flow fields and the Reynolds shear stress distributions show that the velocity and velocity fluctuation in the transverse direction are not negligible. Moreover, the bursting process is investigated using the three-dimensional quadrant analysis, which is more accurate than using the traditional two-dimensional quadrant analysis for the meandering channel. It is obtained from the experimental results that the internal group of events occurs more frequently than the external group, particularly the internal ejection and internal sweep events. In addition, the transition probabilities of the movements, which are defined as the changes of events from the current situation to the next situation in a time series, show that the stable organizations of events are the most possible movements, whereas the cross organizations of events have the least possible movements.     

Should we Teach Primary Pupils about Chemical Change?

Thirty‐six pupils from three sixth‐grade classes (ages 11/12, n = 75) in Greece were interviewed pre‐ and post‐intervention in a piece of research on explanations of chemical phenomena. Software concerning chemical phenomena was incorporated in a teaching scheme, where the particle theory was used. After a 13 hour intervention, pupils’ explanations were categorized in five discrete categories. Only a few pupils could give satisfactory explanations, involving the integration of particle ideas at the level of atoms. The idea of chemical change seemed to be very difficult for the majority of pupils. Implications for the teaching of chemical phenomena at young ages are discussed.

柔性转轴动力学分析与拍振现象

In this paper,the intrinsic behavior of rotating Euler-Benoulli flexible shafts was studied due to coupled bending and torsional vibratuions,the equations of motion of the shaft with unbalanced eccentricity and visous material damping were derived by the Hamilton principle.The numerical solution was obtained using the perturbation approach and mode-assuming method.The influences of the coupled vibrations between the benging and torsion.the rotaing speed,material damping and the slenderness ratio of the shaft were analyzed.It is clearly shown that the beating phenomena can occur when the interaction of torsion and flexure is considered.
