Cellular growth under hydrostatic pressure using bovine aortic EC-SMC co-cultured ePTFE vascular graft

High blood pressure (hypertension) is implicated in the development of atherosclerosis. Blood vessels are constantly subjected to stretch due to blood pressure and changes in stretch usually instigate adaptive vascular remodeling, including abnormal growth and proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) as well as extracellular matrix (ECM). In this experiment, we used bovine aortic endothelial cells and smooth muscle cells (EC-SMC) co-cultured ePTFE vascular grafts subjected to normal atmospheric pressure (as a control), and 100 mmHg hydrostatic pressure for 7 d. The increase of cell layer thickness was observed. When measured, the cell layer thickness increased by 116.2%. The increase of collagen (Type IV) synthesis was also observed in the immunohistochemistry assay. When stained with toluidine blue, the cells showed metachromatic phenomenon.

Hydroxychavicol,a polyphenol from Piper betle leaf extract,induces cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in TP53-resistant HT-29 colon cancer cells

This study aims to elucidate the antiproliferative mechanism of hydroxychavicol(HC).Its effects on cell cycle,apoptosis,and the expression of c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK)and P38 mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)in HT-29 colon cancer cells were investigated.HC was isolated from Piper betle leaf(PBL)and verified by high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC),nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR),and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS).The cytotoxic effects of the standard drug 5-fluorouracil(5-FU),PBL water extract,and HC on HT-29 cells were measured after 24,48,and 72 h of treatment.Cell cycle and apoptosis modulation by 5-FU and HC treatments were investigated up to 30 h.Changes in phosphorylated JNK(pJNK)and P38(pP38)MAPK expression were observed up to 18 h.The half maximal inhibitory concentration(IC₅₀)values of HC(30μg/mL)and PBL water extract(380μg/mL)were achieved at 24 h,whereas the IC₅₀of 5-FU(50μmol/L)was obtained at 72 h.Cell cycle arrest at the G0/G1 phase in HC-treated cells was observed from12 h onwards.Higher apoptotic cell death in HC-treated cells compared to 5-FU-treated cells(P<0.05)was observed.High expression of pJNK and pP38 MAPK was observed at 12 h in HC-treated cells,but not in 5-FU-treated HT-29 cells(P<0.05).It is concluded that HC induces cell cycle arrest and apoptosis of HT-29 cells,with these actions possibly mediated by JNK and P38 MAPK.     

刺五加多糖对人白血病K562细胞作用的研究

目的:研究刺五加多糖对体外培养人白血病K562细胞有无增殖抑制和凋亡诱导作用。方法:取培养至对数生长期的K562细胞(密度为5×104/mL和1×106/mL)分别接种于96孔培养板(100μL/孔)及50mL培养瓶(1.5mL/瓶)中,加入不同浓度的刺五加多糖作用24h后,用CCK-8法检测刺五加多糖对K562细胞增殖抑制作用;荧光显微镜检测细胞凋亡。结果:不同浓度刺五加多糖(0.405、0.810、1.620、2.430、3.240mg/mL)作用K562细胞24 h,抑制率分别为16%、27%、48%、50%、55%;荧光显微镜下观察发现培养K562细胞中出现核固缩、凋亡小体。结论:刺五加多糖对体外培养K562细胞生长有明显的抑制作用,可诱导K562细胞凋亡。     

Blocking optimized SIMD tree search on modern processors

Tree search is a widely used fundamental algorithm. Modern processors provide tremendous computing power by integrating multiple cores, each with a vector processing unit. This paper reviews some studies on exploiting single instruction multiple date (SIMD) capacity of processors to improve the performance of tree search, and proposes several improvement methods on reported SIMD tree search algorithms. Based on blocking tree structure, blocking for memory alignment and dynamic blocking prefetch are proposed to optimize the overhead of memory access. Furthermore, as a way of non-linear loop unrolling, the search branch unwinding shows that the number of branches can exceed the data width of SIMD instructions in the SIMD search algorithm. The experiments suggest that blocking optimized SIMD tree search algorithm can achieve 1.6 times response speed faster than the un-optimized algorithm.     

基于空间模拟的捕食-食饵模型种间抑制作用研究

在食饵具有种内竞争效应的Lotak-volterra模型中结合空间模拟方法研究捕食-食饵之间的关系动态变化,并与未引入空间迁移因素模拟结果进行比较.结果表明物种的相互作用较大时,由于斑块之间的迁移作用,降低了物种的灭绝风险.     

泛在学习资源建设的特征与趋势——以学习元资源模型为例

学习资源是构建泛在学习无缝学习空间的基础性组成部分。泛在学习具有情境性、社会性、非正式性、适应性等特征,但目前以学习对象为主流的学习资源技术只关注封闭结构中学习内容的共享,无法满足泛在学习的需求。未来的泛在学习资源将具有生成性、进化性的特点,采用面向学习过程的设计和支持情境认识的聚合模型,附加社会认知网络属性,利用动态语义标记进行资源描述,使学习资源从传统封闭资源库形态向以资源为中心的协同知识建构学习共同体形态转变。

鸭胚成纤维细胞培养方法的初步建立
