Separated and integrated perspectives on environmental,economic, and social dimensions – an investigation of student views on sustainable development

The sustainable development (SD) concept is based on the idea that economic and social development should be linked to the environment. However, controversies about various associated issues often arise due to the differences in protagonists’ viewpoints, depending partly on whether they focus mainly on environmental, economic, or social dimensions and partly on ideological stances related (for instance) to the optimal ways of promoting economic growth and social justice. This study investigates views of 638 Swedish upper secondary students who responded to a questionnaire probing their views of SD from two perspectives. In the first, the dimensions were separately introduced, so the respondents only had to consider one dimension at a time. In the second, the dimensions were introduced in an integrated fashion, so the respondents had to consider effects related to all three dimensions. The results strongly indicate that the students’ views and priorities concerning the dimensions depend on both the perspective and the context. Implications for teaching and learning are discussed.     

从APOS理论看高中生对函数概念的理解

APOS理论由美国数学教育家杜宾斯基提出.APOS理论强调学生对数学概念的建构要经历操作阶段、过程阶段、对象阶段和图式阶段.我国高中生在函数概念的建构过程中,大部分学生达到操作阶段和过程阶段,很少的学生达到对象阶段,一部分学生达到图式阶段.在对象阶段,随着年级的增长,学生的认识程度在提高;在函数概念的建构各阶段,重点学校的学生认识程度整体上好于普通学校.     

跨文化的有效沟通——以（广东）省港澳地区为例

随着世界各地越来越多的企业组织跨越地域界限，甚至跨出国门来拓宽自己的生存空间，合资企业与合作经营的浪潮已势不可挡。合资与合作的深层含义就是相异的文化在碰撞中寻求融合和协同。跨文化管理所涉及的课题甚多，本文只集中讨论跨文化的沟通。为此，本文访问调查了一些香港和澳门在中国内地的管理决策人员和投资者及中国内地驻香港或澳门中资企业的管理决策人员，希望首先借用同文同种、但由于历史原因形成不同文化背景的(广东)省港澳地区的跨文化沟通经验来论述跨文化的有效沟通。

正确理解JEFC中的课文提示提高中学英语课堂教学质量

在中国,外语教学的主要渠道是课堂教学.课堂教学质量的提高很大程度上取决于教师能否使用现有教材,组织起成功有效的教学活动.现行的初中英语教科书(人教社1996年版)在教学内容上使用了"透明法"进行编写.当教师看到每一课的语文提示语时,就知道每一部分内容应该采用什么样的教学方法.文章以输入到输出的一般课堂教学规律为指导,剖析了JEFC中的一些主要课文提示语,阐述了它们在教学活动中所具有的特殊意义,以及它们之间和它们与其他提示语之间的关系.目的是让英语教师正确理解它们作为提示语的作用,更好地组织起课堂教学活动,提高课堂教学质量.     

The engagement agenda,multimedia learning and the use of images in higher education lecturing: or,how to end death by PowerPoint

This article is concerned with student engagement and understanding in large group teaching in Higher Education (HE). Specifically, it is concerned with the application of Multimedia Learning (MML) methods in Politics, History, International Relations, Sociology, Social Work, and Business and Economics teaching that privilege the use of images to complement text in lecture presentations. This ‘visual’ method, it is claimed in the literature, generates engagement and understanding better than text alone. This article develops, applies and empirically tests with students, MML methods across a range of Higher Education disciplines over three years. The research deploys Participatory Action Research (PAR) methods engaging students as active agents of investigation and change. It finds evidence to support the hypothesis that apposite images combined with reduced text increases students’ engagement and understanding with academic content, but that much formal research needs to expand on the range of demographics tested.     

Creativity, integrativism and a pedagogy of connection

A case is made for working in higher education across and between disciplines, variously known as inter- and multidisciplinarity. Integrativism is proposed as an inclusive term for these different but related modes of academic work. Working integratively is presented as a creative activity. The application of integrativism to the curriculum leads to the notion of a pedagogy of connection. Sociocultural theory is a theoretical foundation for a pedagogy of connection which consists of a framework for focusing on the contexts of connection and tools for making connections. Activity theory is the basis of analysing context and analogy and conceptual blending are examples of tools. The pedagogy of connection is demonstrated through the example of a sense of place. The example takes the form of a design experiment.

电视广告教学中一个主要目的就是培养学生掌握电视媒体的优势特色,学会用蒙太奇理论去创意和表现广告主题,最大限度地发挥电视的视觉冲击效果,但由于诸多原因导致学生没有蒙太奇理论的基础知识和思维习惯,因此在教学中采用多看、多评、多做的方法,向学生传授蒙太奇理论,并训练和培养其运用蒙太奇技巧和能力,同时也要时刻提醒学生把握电视广告的特点,注意目的与技巧的区分,从而使电视广告的创意和表现达到一个完美的结合。
