语言学研究与翻译的对接

翻译与语言学从一开始就有着难理难断的情结,本文根据个人理解,从国外翻译的语言学视角介绍入手,从功能语言学、语用学、语言哲学和语料库语言学几方面对中国的翻译理论与翻译的结合问题进行了梳理概括,从主要思想、研究现状、研究评介等方面对国内外目前这一领域的研究进行了介绍概括,以期为翻译理论的语言学研究进一步发展提供依据。     

认知视角下的习语可分析性与习语教学

传统习语观极大制约着习语研究和习语教学。认知语言学理论为习语的研究与理解提供了理论基础和认知框架,同时也为习语教学提供了新的视角。借助隐喻、转喻和常规知识等认知机制能够对大多数习语意义进行分析;在教学中,应关注习语并注重对习语认知分析的课堂输入和适当教学策略的配合,使学习者意识到汉、英习语在概念体系和文化内涵上的异同,从而培养和提高其准确运用习语的能力。     

语言元功能与语境

语言功能是要在使用中才能体现出来的,而语言的使用离不开语境。系统功能语言学和语用学都重视语境因素对语言使用和语言意义的影响,但两家学说缺乏沟通。分别从系统功能语言学和语用学的角度对语言元功能和语境之关系进行一番观照后不难看出它们在这方面却不乏“不谋而合”之处。这种观照可使我们对语言功能有一个更清晰的宏观上的认识。     

Corpus Analysis of the Various Errors Made by the Student

The software Wordsmith has been commonly used in corpus linguistics.In this paper,the author used the tool of Concord in Wordsmith to analyze various errors made by a student.Five passages made by the students are used.After annotating on the errors,the author uses Concord to sort out each error maker and made classification chart of the errors.All the errors are classified into two categories:errors caused by carelessness and by language ability.After analyzing,there are mainly three kinds of errors and in the first category and five kinds of errors in the second category.

认知语言学的经典理论介评——兼评《认知语言学读本》

《认知语言学读本》集合了认知语言学各个研究领域自肇始至今的代表性理论和观点、研究方法和理论应用。作为基础性文献,《认知语言学读本》是一本相当好的基础性教材,对认知语言学初学者及研究人员都具有很高的参考价值和借鉴意义。     

索绪尔二元对立语言观及其启示

索绪尔在1906年开始讲授普通语言学,到1911年连续讲了三个教程。这三个教程都没有完整的讲稿。1913年索绪尔逝世后,他的学生巴利和塞什艾根据很多同学的笔记整理成《普通语言学教程》。文章拟从"下棋"的比喻及其所关涉的诸如语言与言语、内部语言学与外部语言学、共时态与历史态的二元对立思想以及语言价值论的思想等方面来探讨索绪尔的语言观。     

Understanding the Language Demands on Science Students from an Integrated Science and Language Perspective

This case study of a science lesson, on the topic thermal expansion, examines the language demands on students from an integrated science and language perspective. The data were generated during a sequence of 9 lessons on the topic of ‘States of Matter’ in a Grade 7 classroom (12–13 years old students). We identify the language demands by comparing students' writings with the scientific account of expansion that the teacher intended the students to learn. The comparison involved both content analysis and lexicogrammatical (LG) analysis. The framework of Systemic Functional Linguistics was adopted for the LG analysis. Our analysis reveals differences in the meaning and the way LG resources were employed between the students' writings and the scientific account. From these differences, we found the notion of condition-of-use for LG resources to be a significant aspect of the language that students need to appropriate in order to employ the language of school science appropriately. This notion potentially provides a means by which teachers could concurrently address the conceptual and representational demands of science learning. Finally, we reflect on how the complementary use of content analysis and LG analysis provides a way for integrating the science and language perspectives in order to understand the demands of learning science through language.
