浅谈莫言《生死疲劳》的变异修辞

莫言是中国首位诺贝尔文学奖的获得者,其小说在语言方面取得了令人瞩目的成就。《生死疲劳》是莫言的经典作品,其语言汪洋恣肆,千变万化,尤其是变异修辞手法的运用,不仅数目多,而且类型广。     

中国古典诗歌的不可译因素

中国古典诗歌是否可译,历来都有争论。在翻译过程中语言形式会发生变化,这是不争的事实。因此弗罗斯特认为"诗歌就是翻译过程中丢失的东西。"尽管有诸多中国古典诗歌被译成了英语,但都不是完美的再现,造成这种缺憾根本原因是中西文化差异。文章从意境、意象隐喻、修辞手法、文学典故、音韵等从五个因素出发论证了中国古典诗歌的不可译性。     

加强修辞实践增强修辞能力——修辞教学改革谈

修辞能力主要包括辨别能力、鉴赏能力和运用能力,教师要在修辞教学中引导学生加强修辞实践,在辨别修辞现象的实践中增强辨别能力,在阅读和鉴赏修辞现象的实践中增强鉴赏能力,在反复运用修辞现象的说写实践中增强运用能力.     

Archipelagic rhetoric: remapping the Marianas and challenging militarization from “A Stirring Place”

Engaging critical rhetorical fieldwork in the Mariana Islands archipelago, this article destabilizes colonial naming projects and US federal control that dispossess island places from Indigenous peoples. On Euro-American and military maps, archipelagoes are depicted as distant, tiny, empty, or merely (is)lands for US geostrategic control. I argue for a remapping of the Marianas as expansive, oceanic sites of resistance to colonial cartographic violence and US militarization. Fieldwork in the Marianas demonstrates how Indigenous epistemologies function as archipelagic rhetoric enacted through a Chamoru sense of place. I examine these fluid relational connections to place and their implications for decolonization.     

修辞两分野的辩证分析

陈望道在《修辞学发凡》中提出了修辞的两分野:积极修辞和消极修辞。二者是对立统一的关系,共同构成了修辞现象这个整体。积极修辞和消极修辞不存在优劣之说,我们在学习和研究的时候既要注意积极修辞,也要重视消极修辞,力求二者的平衡。     

Legitimizing the Wound: Mapping the Military's Diagnostic Discourse of Traumatic Brain Injury

Following reports spanning from the beginning of the OEF (Operation Enduring Freedom) and OIF (Operation Iraqi Freedom) conflicts to the early 2010s, this rhetorical investigation analyzes the U.S. military's diagnostic practices used to identify mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) in blast-affected troops. Considering the notion of “wound/injury” as a possible boundary object, this paper discusses how the conceptual framing of “invisible” injuries may produce interruptions of distrust that inhibit effective diagnosis.     

Multimodality in the Technical Communication Classroom: Viewing Classical Rhetoric Through a 21st Century Lens

The authors provide a robust framework for using rhetorical foundations to teach multimodality in technical communication, describing a pedagogical approach wherein students consider the rhetorical canons—invention, arrangement, style, delivery, and memory—when developing texts beyond print. Students learn to assess their own work, reflecting on how each canon contributed to the rhetorical effectiveness of their multimodal projects. The authors argue for using the canons as a rhetorical foundation for helping students understand technical communication in the digital age.     

修辞学研究应有的格局与坚持——序宗廷虎、李金苓先生80华诞纪念文集《追梦修辞学五十年》

宗廷虎与李金苓夫妇同为复旦大学中文系教授,都是师从中国现代修辞学之父、复旦大学老校长陈望道先生学习修辞学的。他们从学生时代开始学习研究修辞学,直到耄耋之年,仍然心系修辞学,魂牵修辞学,穷其一生,矢志不渝地在修辞学园地辛勤地耕耘、拓荒。他们在修辞学研究上所取得的成就,为中国修辞学界同仁所一致公认。他们成功的秘诀有两点:一是对修辞学这门学问的坚持,二是有自己研究应有的格局。

The duality of scientific ethos: Deep and surface structures

Aristotle's concept of ethos is primarily one based on civic duty, and as such loses its specificity when extended to the scientific forum. By adapting Aristotle's traditional concept of ethos to contemporary social norms of science, a link can be established between classical theory and contemporary practice. In this essay, I use Robert Merton's theory of the normative conditions of science to perform a meta‐critique of the use of ethos in four case studies. This meta‐analysis reveals the dual structure of ethos as reflected in a surface structure of style and a deep structure of argument.
