英国国家数学课程标准的确立与变革及其启示——中英国家数学课程标准比较研究之一

1989年，英国颁布国家数学课程标准。英国国家数学课程标准确立与变革的基本经验有：对基础教育数学课程改革要渐变，不要突变；要尊重所有的学生及其选择，并为其准备必要的方案；要注意内容领域、学段、达成目标和评估标准的有机结合。启示是：要做到国家课程、地方课程和学校课程之间理论层面上的关系和实践层面上的协调与融合；课程标准必须确立在基本共同要求与灵活适应之间的平衡基础上；教学评估是最根本、最具有导向性的问题等。

本文论述了伊丽莎白政府1559—1560年在苏格兰问题上采取的循序渐进的干涉政策:适中的承诺,金钱和武器援助,公开武装干涉.在此基础上分析了英格兰取胜的根本原因:外交战略的调整;独立自主的外交政策;伊丽莎白女王与威廉·塞西尔相得益彰的合作.试图说明:苏格兰问题的解决使不列颠岛日益成为一个防御整体,在此基础上英格兰走出了一条全新的外交路线.     

Education in England – a testbed for network governance?

Abstract

Since devolution in the late 1990s, education policy in England has diverged further from that in Scotland and also from policy in Wales and Northern Ireland. In this paper we review the roots and trajectory of the English education reforms over the past two decades. Our focus is the schools sector, though we also touch on adjoining reforms to early years and further and higher education. In so doing, we engage with various themes, including marketisation, institutional autonomy and accountability. Changes in governance arrangements for schools have been a defining feature of education reforms since devolution. This has been set against an evolution in national performance indicators that has put government priorities into ever sharper relief. In theorising the changes, we pay particular attention to the suggestion that the English education system now epitomises the concept of ‘network governance’, which has also been applied to education in a global context. We question the extent to which policies have in practice moved beyond the well-established mechanisms of ‘steering at a distance’ and undermined the very notion of an education system in England. We conclude by considering possible futures for education policy and how they may position England in relation to other parts of the UK and the wider world.

RESEARCHING RESISTANCE: CAMPAIGNS AGAINST ACADEMIES IN ENGLAND

ABSTRACT:  This article uses social movement theory to analyse campaigns against a new type of government-sponsored school – the Academy – in four areas of England. It seeks to identify the social composition of anti-Academy campaigns, to track their encounters with proponents of the new schools and to describe the characteristic forms of their campaigning strategies. In doing so, the article aims to help place research into educational opposition and contestation closer to the centre of researchers' agendas.     

美英两国学校效能研究的回顾与展望

学校效能对学生学习进步至关重要。文章简要概述了美、英两国学校效能研究的现状。在对已有文献进行回顾后,提出了其中存在的问题,指明了今后研究的方向以及如何提高研究质量。     

大学理想研究的学术史——以英美和中国大陆为核心的考察

本文主要对英美国家大学理想研究的学术史进行了梳理,将其分为18世纪至19世纪末、19世纪末至20世纪二战前后、20世纪60年代至90年代三个阶段.第一个阶段主要是反对新大学,意味着传统大学观念的成熟;第二个阶段是反对高等教育领域的功利主义;第三个阶段是反对现代性对大学的戕害.在第三个阶段,中国大陆的大学理想研究在高等教育大发展的背景下融入了这一学术史历程.最后,本文提出了大学理想研究的局限和突破的方向.     

对英国NCSL学院的学校领导教育模式的研究

简要介绍了英国NCSL学院的学校领导教育模式，并分析其特点和存在的问题，进而提出其教学模式对我国的学校领导教育体系的构建和大学治理的启示。     

Liberal studies and critical pedagogy in further education colleges: ‘where their eyes would be opened’ (sometimes)

This paper revisits the liberal studies movement, a significant feature of the English further education (FE) sector from the 1950s until the beginning of the 1980s. Its central argument is that liberal and general studies (LS/GS) and similar provision offered a vehicle where, at least in some circumstances, certain politically-motivated FE teachers were able to engage in forms of mutual, dialogic teaching and learning which can be conceptualised as critical pedagogy—or at least as close to critical pedagogy as can be achieved within the formal education system in a nation such as England. The paper draws on interviews with former FE lecturers who taught various forms of liberal studies to vocational students in FE colleges across England during the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. Whilst it is recognised that LS/GS was always contested terrain, data presented in this paper provide evidence to suggest that the spirit of critical pedagogy existed amongst a certain strand within the liberal studies movement, at least for a time—even if not all learners wished to be emancipated by their studies.
