MY OWN OPINONS ON THE TEACHING OF A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Reform and the opening to the outside world needs English teaching and English teaching needs reform. How to reform it and promote the English level of our whole nation as early as possible? This paper puts forward four suggestions macroscopically in that connection:1. To take a correct attitude towards different teaching methods or approaches. 2. To teach a foreign language through the native language. 3. To compile suitable textbooks. 4. To reform the method of the present examination.     

Exit cards: creating a dialogue for continuous evaluation

This study explored the use of Exit Cards, which are formative evaluations of student knowledge and instruction undertaken at every class meeting. Its results are based on Exit Card data from two undergraduate research methods courses. Thematic analysis indicated that students used Exit Cards to communicate (1) what they learned, (2) challenges with course material, (3) experiences with peers, (4) requests for help, (5) challenges with coping, and (6) successes. While the present study is an initial exploration of the use of Exit Cards, it contributes to knowledge on the utilization of informal formative assessments.

英语教学中应注意母语负迁移对汉英翻译中多余词汇现象的影响

母语负迁移现象是二语学习者的障碍和二语习得研究的对象.以汉语为母语的英语学习者在翻译中出现的错译、误译大都是由于受到母语负迁移的影响.特别是汉英翻译中多余词汇的现象,是母语负迁移的明显表现形式.文章通过分析汉英翻译中出现的多余词汇现象,提出了相关的翻译方法、对策以及对大学英语教学的启示.     

Structuring Dialogue with Students via Learning Tasks

We discuss a teaching approach that we believe promotes deep learning and diminishes the powerful voice of the teacher, thereby allowing students and the teacher to reason actively and inquire together in the classroom. This teaching approach is based on an integration of the concepts of dialogue and of mediation and utilizes learning tasks to structure dialogue with students during classroom meetings and outside the classroom, when students work independently. Students' experiences of this approach within the two courses reported on in the article were generally positive.

内隐认知是人类认知系统的重要组成部分.对内隐认知的发现和研究打破了仅仅重视外显认知的单一局面,为更加全面、深入地认识人类认知系统的多重性和认知过程及其发展的内在规律提供了新的角度.当前的内隐认知研究广泛涉及了感知、记忆、语言理解、规则抽取、动作技能、情感反应等多个方面,揭示出内隐认知的多样性和复杂性.已有研究指出,内隐认知在种系发展和个体发展中均具有独特的重要地位.充分利用内隐认知将有助于促进认知效率的提高以及认知发展,并可为外显认知功能受损个体的功能康复带来希望.进一步揭示内隐认知与外显认知的相互联系与促进问题,对于揭示人类认知本质及促进人类认知发展与认知功能康复具有重要意义.
