杨朝明先生与《孔子家语》研究

《孔子家语》是一部重要的儒学典籍,但多年来被误判为伪书。近年来,借助出土文献,前沿学者开始重新认识此书价值。杨朝明先生积极参与《孔子家语》的研究工作,包括对伪书说及相关学术史的反思,与出土文献及其他典籍关系的文献学研究,单篇或某一部分的研究,以及相关的儒学史、思想史研究等。在多年积累基础上,杨先生组织同仁、学生,编撰《孔子家语通解》一书,为读者提供更多便利。     

《海神家族》与《无字》中男性缺席的书写比较

陈玉慧的《海神家族》和张洁的《无字》,两部长篇小说皆通过对女性家族历史的记忆书写,将女性浮出历史地表,呈现出女性真实的生活场景和情感心理;两部作品虽然都书写了家族中男性形象的缺席。而在描写途径上有着明显的不同。对上述创作差异的比较,可以窥见海峡两岸女作家在家族历史书写中所凸显的女性生命悲剧、人格内涵及精神历程变迁。     

从《周易·家人》看中国早期的家规与家风

家规与家风已越来越受到人们的重视。而《周易》的《家人》卦便向我们展示了中国早期家庭的一种有代表性的家规与家风,即：男外女内、忧患意识、和谐是福、敬祖善奴。这为我们研究中国家规、家风的起源与演变提供了一个范例,对当今家规、家风的建立与养成也具有一定的借鉴意义。     

科学传播领域三大国际会议的研究及其启示

科学传播这一研究领域受到了越来越多的关注,尤其是近年来,科学传播领域的三个重要的国际会议——公众科技传播会议(Public Communication of Science and Technology,简称PCST),科学传播会议(Science Communication Conference,简称SCC)和科学传播学会议(Science of Science Communication,简称SSC),吸引了世界各国对科学传播议题感兴趣的研究者们展开多元探讨,共同谋划科学传播的未来。本文试图就这三大会议的主旨与议题进行分析,探寻国际科学传播研究关注点的发展及其趋势,并提出对于中国科学传播研究及发展可能的启示。     

三本院校《光纤通信》课程教学的新探索

本文从三本院校光纤通信课程的性质和特点入手,对三本院校光纤通信课程教学存在的问题进行了分析。结合三本院校及学生的特点,提出一些相关的教学改革措施。     

Parenting styles and bullying. The mediating role of parental psychological aggression and physical punishment

Studies concerning parenting styles and disciplinary practices have shown a relationship between both factors and bullying involvement in adolescence. The scarce available evidence suggests that abusive disciplinary practices increase teenagers’ vulnerability to abuse in school or the likelihood of them becoming abusers of their peers in the same context. However, there is a lack of knowledge about the indirect effect of parenting styles in adolescents’ bullying involvement through disciplinary practices, although a relationship between parenting styles and disciplinary practices has been shown. The aim of this research was to determine the mediating role of punitive parental discipline (physical punishment and psychological aggression) between the dimensions of parents’ parenting styles and their children's involvement in bullying victimization and aggression. We used a sample comprising 2060 Spanish high school students (47.9% girls; mean age = 14.34). Structural equation modeling was performed to analyze the data. The results confirmed the mediating role of parental discipline between the parenting practices analyzed and students’ aggression and victimization. Significant gender-related differences were found for aggression involvement, where boys were for the most part linked to psychological aggression disciplinary practices and girls to physical punishment. Victimization directly correlated with parental psychological aggression discipline behavior across both sexes. In conclusion, the results seem to suggest that non-democratic parenting styles favor the use of punitive discipline, which increases the risk of adolescents’ bullying involvement. Therefore, intervention programs must involve parents to make them aware about the important role they play in this process and to improve their parenting styles.     

Emotion Work Revealed by Job Loss Discourse: Backgrounding-Foregrounding of Feelings, Construction of Normalcy, and (Re)instituting of Traditional Masculinities

Three emotion work themes were displayed in the discourse of individuals who lost their jobs and of their family members. Foregrounding-backgrounding of emotions indicated not only how some individuals and family members exerted effort to express positive emotions, but also why they would do so (for deep authenticity). In the construction of normalcy, respondents made an effort to portray and enact their lives as similar to the way things were before the job loss. By (re)instituting traditional masculinities, the men who lost their jobs were able to be "real" men in an emasculating situation. Taken together, these findings offer possibilities for further theoretical development and for communication interventions that can be applied by human resource professionals, career and outplacement counselors, family members, friends, and the individuals themselves.

Establishing the structure of reality for an industry: model and anti-model arguments as advocacy in Nike's crisis communication

This study illustrates the potential role of model and anti-model arguments in organizational crisis communication. Specifically, model and anti-model arguments are described as a strategy for moving the focus of a crisis from an organization to its industry. Model arguments enable organizations to establish their corrective action as industry standards that merit imitation. Conversely, organizations can set minimum standards for their industries with anti-model arguments. Phil Knight's May 12, 1998, speech announcing Nike's new initiatives in global manufacturing is analyzed as a case study. The essay concludes that model and anti-model arguments can suspend criticism of the organization, create the foundation for a return to industry prominence by the organization, and establish proposed new industry standards that are favorable to the organization.     

Teacher e-mail message strategies and students' willingness to communicate online

In light of the prevalent use of e-mail between teachers and students, researchers have highlighted the need to assess its uses and effects. Relying on the research and thinking of teacher immediacy and extra-class communication, we developed a scale that measures those e-mail message strategies that influence students' willingness to communicate online with their teachers. Next, we isolated those reasons that students use e-mail to interact with their teachers: (1) to clarify course material and procedures, (2) as a means of efficient communication, and (3) for personal/social reasons. Finally, we examined student characteristics such as gender and ethnicity, and history of e-mail use that may (or may not) influence their attitudes toward e-mail exchanges with teachers.
