Managing misspelled queries in IR applications

Our work concerns the design of robust information retrieval environments that can successfully handle queries containing misspelled words. Our aim is to perform a comparative analysis of the efficacy of two possible strategies that can be adopted.     

强人工智能和超级智能:技术合理性及其批判

强人工智能(以下简称强AI:Strong Artificial Intelligence)由美国哲学家约翰·塞尔上世纪70年代在其论文《心灵、大脑与程序》中提出,主要是指对人工智能(以下简称AI)持有的这样一种哲学立场:基于心智的计算模型,以通用数字计算机为载体的AI程序可以象人类一样认知和思考,达到或者超过人类智能水平。这种立场与弱人工智能(以下简称弱AI:Weak AI)或应用人工智能相对立,后者认为AI只是帮助人类完成某些任务的工具或助理。随着最近20年来互联网、神经科学、基因工程等技术的飞速发展,强AI从塞尔时代的一种哲学立场逐步向工程实践转变和演进,未来学家甚至设想和描述了强AI的更极端版本:超级智能,这些在IBM、谷歌、Facebook、微软等产业巨头和库兹韦尔、马克拉姆等乐观的技术实践者的双重推动下,藉由大众科学传播的放大作用,渗透到人们的日常生活中构成了对其技术合理性的辩护,但AI本身对人类主体和社会的影响不是价值中立的,它一方面难以吸收和提升人类的创新本质,另一方面其技术合理性带来的后果与其初衷有时相互背离,并在商业行为的推动下,构成对作为文化产物和自我解释的理性人类的单向压制和挑战。     

略论卢前《中国戏剧概论》的贡献与不足

卢前的《中国戏剧概论》是我国戏曲研究史上一部较早的著作,在戏曲研究史上具有多方面的贡献：清晰地勾勒了中国戏曲发展的历史;以文化进化的眼光,从观众的心理来看待中国戏剧的发展;摒弃文人偏见,以宽容的心态将地方戏＂花部＂纳入了学术视野;关注到了中外戏剧的交流;对一些有关戏曲的学术概念作了辨析,推进了人们对戏曲的认识。当然,作为一部初创时期的著作,它也有一些不足：述多论少,有罗列名单、堆砌资料之嫌,一些章节缺乏新见;作为一部戏剧通史,还缺乏整体性、系统性;书中有少数错厄的论述。

图书馆学研究成果向外渗透的两个典型代表——论《中国图书馆分类法》和《中文核心期刊要目总览》

分析《中国图书馆分类法》和《中文核心期刊要目总览》的发展历程，阐述它们在各自领域的功能和作用，通过其超越自身功能所衍生的对学术论文管理、编辑出版领域影响、科研管理评价、引发学术大讨论等问题的探究，论证图书馆学不断融合、渗透、丰富自身学术内涵所取得的研究成果。进而展望图书馆在未来的发展中必将融入更多其它学科的研究成果，形成既有相关学科内容又有自身特点的全新图书馆研究新领域。     

我国通识教育的理论误区

当前，大学通识教育的重要性日益为学者们所注目。然而，审视我国大学实施通识教育的状况，在理论上还有一些模糊性，并不同程度地存在着理论误区。误区一：通识教育等同于人文教育；误区二：通识教育等同于通才教育；误区三：通识教育等同于泛泛的知识教育。针对这些误区，本文提出了我国大学实施通识教育的对策，即将通识教育提升为一种教育理念。     

Review of economic bubbles

This paper investigates the history of economic bubbles and attempts to identify whether there are direct correlations between different bubbles. To support this research, literature has been consulted on historical and recent bubbles, theories surrounding speculation, the market for venture capital, and bubbles in the technology sector. By analysing a range of bubbles, rather than just those in the technology sector, general bubble-principles are also identified. All the economic bubbles are classified under “uncontrolled risk” and a recommended method that can detect and analyse full impacts by uncontrolled risk will be presented, together with future directions to be discussed.     

我国学校体育场地对外开放和经营

对第5次全国体育场地普查有关资料的研究显示,学校体育场地对外开放比例偏低,不开放率达70.80%。研究认为,国家及地方政府应继续完善相关法规,促使和监督学校体育场地设施有序开放和规范经营,学校也应增强服务意识,加大法规贯彻力度,采用合理的经营管理方式,提高体育场馆设施管理水平和使用效率,并积极宣传和引导大众体育消费。     

Manufacture and Date of a Goryeo dynasty Sutra Box with Mother-of-pearl Inlaid Decoration at the Rijksmuseum,Amsterdam

Currently, about ten Goryeo dynasty (918–1392 CE) sutra boxes are preserved in museums in Korea, Japan, the United States, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. This article is the result of an examination of a sutra box in the collection of the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam (hereafter ‘Rijksmuseum sutra box’), which was first introduced to a European audience in the Transactions and Proceedings of the Japanese Society, in 1913–1914. The Rijksmuseum sutra box differs from other Goryeo sutra boxes. With its altered structure and modified motifs, this box bears significant value, not only for the research of thirteenth-century Goryeo mother-of-pearl art, but also for the study of cross-cultural adaptations in East Asian lacquer art. This article investigates the date of manufacture of the sutra box by analysing the manufacturing techniques and its various original and modified parts. For this, an X-ray radiograph was carried out for the first time. As a result, discoveries have been made regarding the structure and decoration of the lower part, which has been modified and is different from Goryeo mother-of-pearl sutra boxes. Finally, this paper reconsiders conservation and repair of Goryeo sutra boxes, as illuminated by an understanding of the original and repaired parts of this box.
